Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. All new and current students will need to register for the new school year. We thank all the families that have already taken the time to register. If you are having any difficulties with the registration process, please call our office at (619) 628-5300.

Free Mental Health Webinar Series for Parents and Caregivers
Prioritizing mental health is important for students to be able to learn effectively; it's also a key component that helps staff teach and support learners every day. The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) has compiled resources and information for students, families, and schools that keep mental health supports top of mind. SBUSD Town Hall Meetings
Superintendent Espinoza will be leading 3 Town Hall meetings to discuss the work of the Asset Management Superintendent's Advisory Committee. The meeting dates can be found below:
- Wednesday, April 17 at 5:30 PM at Nestor Language Academy (1455 Hollister Street in San Diego)
- Wednesday, April 24 at 5:30 PM at Central School (1290 Ebony Avenue in Imperial Beach)
I hope that all Emory community members can attend at least one meeting to hear about the potential changes to our school and those around us. Therapeutic Recreation
Chula Vista Parks & Rec offers Therapeutic Recreation programming for adults 18+ individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities and for children ages 17 and under.The classes are specifically designed for individuals with special needs and are intended to promote an active and healthy lifestyle, improve physical abilities, build self-confidence, strengthen interpersonal skills and foster friendships. They offer a wide range of classes and special events which include sports, fitness & exercise, learn to swim, dance and educational classes. All classes and special events for adults are fully funded and supported by a Community Development Block Grant.

Chula Vista Parks & Rec ofrece programación de recreación terapéutica para adultos mayores de 18 años con discapacidades físicas y/o de desarrollo y para niños de 17 años o menos. Military Family Corner
Our school-based MFLCs are here and ready to listen and provide confidential feedback to support military students and parents through short-term, situational, problem-solving counseling sessions. MFLCs are also available to provide school-based support to school staff. Start your conversation today!
AUTISM ASK LINE
The Autism Ask Line is a call-in line for caregivers, autistic self-advocates, and autism service professionals in San Diego County.
The program provides
- Peer-to-peer support with a trained representative who has personal lived experience with autism.
- Compassionate guidance through the landscape of services and resources in San Diego County.
- Resources for a range of questions from newly diagnosed to adult services and programs.
- Referrals and information about the San Diego Regional Center, special education and IEP's, mental health referrals, adult resources, and much more.
They invite calls from autistic persons, family members, and autism professionals. Each call will be answered by a specially trained peer support staff member who has personal experience with autism.

BLUE ENVELOPE PROGRAM
San Diego County is proud to offer the Blue Envelope Program. The program is designed to promote inclusivity and serve as an enhanced communication awareness tool between law enforcement and community members diagnosed with a condition or disability such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, dementia, anxiety or other conditions that might require additional accommodations or awareness during a law enforcement interaction. The Blue Envelope Program does not have a registry component; therefore, the program is voluntary and self-implemented.

SPECIAL EDUCATION FAMILY RESOURCE FAIR
Tuesday, April 16, 5:30-7 pm @ Coronado High School Multi-Purpose Room
Informative presentations and vendor tables with resource for families of students with IEPs. Focus will be on 6th grade through adult transition students, but the event is free and open to all. Enjoy presentations from the San Diego Regional Center, Department of Rehabilitation, and the Exceptional Family Resource Center, plus visit tables from other resource providers.
Free childcare, pizza and drinks for attendees!
CHALLENGER LEAGUE
Baseball Buddies Scrimmage: Sunday, May 5
Coronado Little League is adding a Challenger Division to its roster for all children and young adults with special needs to provide the opportunity to play baseball in an organized league, in their community with classmates and friends. Every player will be teamed up with a baseball buddy based on his or her unique needs. The goal is FUN and FRIENDSHIP. All children and young adults enrolled in school are welcome to register FOR FREE.

ALEXANDER KREIGLOWA NAVY & MARINE CORPS DEPENDENTS EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Application Deadline: Tuesday, April 30
The Navy League of the United States San Diego Council administers the Alexander Kreiglowa Navy and Marine Corps Dependents Education Foundation Scholarship. The scholarship is open to all California high seniors who are the children of active duty, retired or deceased members of the United States Navy or Marine Corps and provides up to $15,000 per year toward the cost of tuition, books and academic fees. It is renewable for a total of 4 years subject to a minimum GPA and ongoing financial need. OPERATION BIGS
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of San Diego County is now enrolling youth in Operation Bigs; a free program providing mentoring and support to students of military families. Youth must be a least 7 years old, a military dependent, and able to participate 2-4 times a month for at least one calendar year.
