Good Afternoon Grant Gator Families,

We are excited about our first day with students on Monday, August 26. We know many of you are ready to get your child(ren) back to school as well. Thank you for trusting us to serve your child(ren). Monday is a 1/2 day of school. School ends at 12:10 p.m.

In late May the Grant Staff and I came together to create our grade level class lists. Please see the message below regarding class placement and the importance of not moving students once the lists have been finalized. I know it seems like this would be an easy change but hours of time goes into this.

Many of you may have noticed road construction all over in Livonia. While this will be great for long term road traveling, we have a feeling it's not going to bode well for our students' bus routes. Just keep this in mind as we know it can be very frustrating.

Please know that much time and consideration has been taken in developing classroom assignments. Changes at this time could negatively impact our staff's work to ensure we have well-balanced classrooms. Our focus now is to continue to develop strong relationships between our staff, students, and parents! If you have specific concerns at any time during the school year, I encourage you to set up an appointment with your child's teacher. To end, I respectfully request that you refrain from requesting changes to your child's placement.

Dear Parent,

Blessings in a Backpack-Livonia is an all-volunteer program designed to provide students who are in need, with enough food for three meals a day during the weekends. If you participate in this program, your child will receive a bag at the end of every week of school (Thursday or Friday), filled with non-perishable food for the weekend. There is no cost to you for participating in this program. No further information is required. Your information will not be shared. If you would like to have your child participate in this program, fill out and submit the form using the link below as soon as possible. We are requesting your name and email address, so that a confirmation of registration will be emailed to you. Delivery will begin the week of September 11th.

Currently, we are providing prepackaged bags, so we are unable to customize for allergies or religious dietary needs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

A growth mindset is a theory or an idea that our brains are not fixed at a certain intelligence level. We can continue to expand our minds and intelligence by pushing ourselves to do new things, trying hard things, and redoing something until it’s successful. A fixed mindset is that either you can do it or you can’t. For example, either you can paint well or you can’t. There is no in-between.

Our busses line up in our gymnasium and/or the LMC depending on what letter they take home at dismissal. When you get your child's teacher assignment on Thursday, August 22 you can come to Grant Elementary and show your child what door they will be entering or exiting daily too. just a friendly reminder that our parents do not enter the building to walk their child(ren) to class. We have a lot of greeters at our doors to ensure that all students get to the correct classroom.
