- A new tradition for our Leadership Assemblies...a CHAMPION BELT being awarded to a teacher that has exemplified being a champion for students and other staff members. This week Mr. Cortes was chosen as our CHAMPION! Next Leadership Assembly Mr. Cortes will choose another staff member he feels has earned the CHAMPIONSHIP BELT! Congratulations, Mr. Cortes!
- Maestro Clavijo's class working on maps with clay! Cool project!
- Mrs. Battikha's class working on critical thinking skills with a fun team building activity. The activity involves saving Fred (a gummy worm) after his boat is flipped upside down by placing him into his lifesaver since worms cannot swim using only four paper clips without opening them.
-Mrs. Battikha's class learning about Phenomenon is Science. Students were introduced to the word Phenomenon, by researching an interesting phenomenon that would spark their curiosity and then presenting it to their classmates.
-And one more awesome activity in Mrs. Battikha's science class: Students were able to use models to explore how fossils are made within the rock layers. They used Rice Krispies, cocoa puffs, gummy worms, life-preserver gummies, and marshmallows. They enjoyed both the learning experience and eating the rock model.
