Standing in Traffic: Gratitude for the Hillside Community
Earlier this week, Dr. Lucas sent communication about carpool dangers at many Westside schools. I do not feel that the message regarding unsafe drivers necessarily applies to Hillside. We are lucky enough to have a large parking lot with wide lanes and an area to stage buses and vans. Students typically follow the rules, staff is well trained to manage the carpool line, and carpool drivers usually cooperate with the system so that students and staff are safe. Every day.
Thank you for continuing to work together and with us to ensure a smooth and safe carpool drop-off and pick-up experience for students and staff. The staff of Hillside is appreciative of your support of our carpool systems.

Halloween Fun: Volunteers Needed
Friday, October 25, is the Halloween Trunk or Treat at Hillside from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This event is always lots of fun: kids dress up and "trunk or treat" in the big circle out front. Families park in the circle, decorate their car trunk , and hand out candy. We hope you will consider decorating a trunk and/or attending this event.
We also have Hillside's Halloween Parade that day just before the Halloween parties (or a Harvest Festival for those who choose not to celebrate Halloween). The parade starts at 2:00 p.m. inside and will proceed outside. The best photos can be taken outside in front at the circle drive.
Community Club has created some links to help volunteers to get involved:
