Last week, we were reminded of the threats that continue to be part of our daily reality. Safety for our staff and students remain a top priority for Shelly and I. We appreciate everyone doing their part to make schools a safe place for our students and to help them process the feelings that come with it. We also strive to find a balance between welcoming parents and families into our schools while following our safety protocols to make sure that every visitor sign in and out in the front office, all adults wear badges at all times, and all doors remain locked. Parents, please make sure you sign in and out of the front office and wear a visitor sticker at all times in the building. As we enter our third week of school, during arrival time of 9:10-9:30, if you would like to walk your child to class, please make sure you have a visitor sticker on in a visible place. We also encourage our students to learn the routine to going to their class by themselves or with older siblings. We also have many staff placed throughout our building who can help students get to their classroom. Please reach out with any concerns you have.

Many of you may have noticed we have rerouted our front door pick-up during dismissal time. Please remember to wait eastbound in the alleyway between Forest Street and Cypress Street. This has helped us to alleviate the congestion on Cypress and allows our buses to come through to pick up our students. It also allows for a safer area for families to cross the street. School picture day is Sept. 19th! Please look for information coming home regarding ordering pictures and packages. Dress your best! Wear your brightest smiles!

PTO is sponsoring our first Family Movie Night for the 24-25 school year on Friday, September 20th. Free and open to Txuj Ci Lower students and families. Please bring your own chairs, mats, blankets, and beverage. PTO will provide popcorn. Students must come with parents to the event. Let's have some family fun! Movie starts at 6:00pm. Doors open at 5:30pm for families to come and set up their spots. Parents will provide supervision of their children as there will be limited staff. Thank you PTO!

Drop-Off time is 9:10am-9:30am. Please go southbound on Cypress and pull all the way up. Parents should stay in the car and staff will help the students into the school.

Pick-Up time is 3:55pm-4:10pm. Please stay in your car and drive into the parking lot. Make sure pink cards are on dash board. Staff will call out students to your car. Parents who walk to pick up students should wait by the main front doors (Door 16). Students will be called out to meet you.

CHANGES TO DISMISSAL: If you need to pick your child up and NOT put them on the bus, please call the school BEFORE 3:00pm each day. We have many students and this allows enough time to clearly communicate it to the teachers so students go in the correct dismissal line. Last minute changes make it very challenging to get our students to the right place.
