Fall Festival
We need your support!
Friday, November 1st, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Dear Joe Serna Families,
We are excited to announce that we will have our annual Fall Festival and we need your help to make it a success! This is a fantastic opportunity to support our school community, connect with teachers and other parents, and create lasting memories with our students.
This is a great opportunity for parents to earn 30 hours of volunteer time. Whether you can spare a few hours to help set up, assist during the festival, or help with cleaning up afterward, your time and support would be greatly appreciated. Volunteering helps ensure the event runs smoothly and makes it more enjoyable for everyone. Plus, it sets a positive example for children, showing them the importance of giving back and being involved in their community. If you're available to volunteer, please use the following link https://forms.gle/Thf58tMHeB8fgvGs8 to sign up . Please reach out to our Serna PTA via email at jsjcspta@gmail.com
We look forward to working together to create a fun and memorable event for everyone!

Jump into English for Parents
Jump into English is thrilled to announce a completely revamped curriculum for our Jump into English for Parents program! This program is designed to support LUSD parents learning English as a second language through a variety interactive lessons focused on parent engagement, social-emotional learning, and foundational language skills.
The primary goal of this program is to provide families with the tools necessary to fully engage in their childrenโs education and community activities, while also enhancing foundational language skills. By offering a program with highly relevant, community related themes blended with language development, we hope to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
Please see the flyers and a link to the online registration form https://jimenterprises.net/enroll/parent-registration/, available in both English and Spanish. Classes will be offered at various LUSD sites and also online. Parents that are interested and would like more information about the program, please contact their office at 209-474-6284 or you may reach out to Fabiana Simmons, Program Coordinator at 209-471-6197.
Lodi Community Survey (K-12)
The survey aims to gather input on how Lodi GrapeLine can better serve their passengers, including LUSD students and families.
Educational Partner Meeting (K-12)
LUSD is required to host an educational partner meeting to discuss the achievements and experiences of our underrepresented student groups, particularly where we see significant disproportionality. This meeting will provide an opportunity to examine data, share insights, and collaboratively identify strategies for better supporting these students.
Gently Used Uniforms
Do you have gently used uniform shirts & pants that your student no longer wears?
If you have these items, please drop them off in the office. We have a collection basket where they can be dropped off. Thank you!
30 Volunteer Hours
We believe that a strong school community is built on the collaboration of students, teachers, parents and guardians. That's why this year we are bringing back the 30 hours of volunteer hours. Your involvement has a profound impact on both your child's experience and the overall success of our school community. We have many activities taking place this year. If you can contribute a few hours a week, help with specific events, or support with behind-the-scenes activities, every bit of help makes a difference. By volunteering, you're not only helping our school but also showing your child the importance of giving back and being involved.
Our Serna PTA is working on creating volunteer slips, and will be available soon. If you are interested in learning about volunteer opportunities, please feel free to reach out to our Serna PTA via email at jsjcspta@gmail.com. Thank you for being an essential part of our community.

๐ป Student Chromebooks ๐ป
Important Notice to Parents: Discussing Care and Responsibility for District Chromebooks (K-12)
We want to bring to your attention the importance of discussing the proper care of district-issued student Chromebooks with your children. We have observed an increase in incidents involving damage, often linked to carelessness or misuse. As we address these situations, we want to remind you of the importance of engaging in discussions with your child about the proper care of their district-issued Chromebook. Students will be held responsible for any damages, and charges may apply for repairs. Principals will conduct thorough investigations in collaboration with students to ensure fair outcomes. Additionally, please remind your students to charge their Chromebooks overnight, ensuring they are ready for the next day's learning activities. Your involvement in these discussions is crucial, and we appreciate your attention to these matters.
Lost and Found
Has your student misplaced a sweater or sweat shirt? Please take time to look through the lost and found to see if any of the items belong to your student. All clothing items that are not picked up by Friday, November 22 will be taken to a donation center.
Have You Reported Your Students' Absence?
If your student is sick and will not be attending school, please call our office at 209-331-7809 to notify us.
