Wednesday was an exciting day when we were finally able to open our new FDK playground! Our FDK educators removed the caution tape and the students couldn't run fast enough to start exploring their new playground! Thanks again to this amazing community for all of your support. Stay tuned for more infomation on an official opening and donor recognition celebration.

Marble Slab is coming to JD on Thursday, October 24th and each student who orders will be able to choose a flavour of ice cream. Students will have the choice of 2 toppings from an assortment that Marble Slab brings, plus whipped cream and sauce. All proceeds will be donated to the London Middlesex United Way Campaign. Mrs. Adams’ and Mrs. Carter’s classes are so very excited to have the opportunity to learn at the Museum of Archaeology. Thank you to those families who have already purchased a pizza kit in support of our Grade 3 fundraiser! We have already sold 20 kits, but are hoping to sell at least 100 kits in order to meet our goal! These pizza kits are a great option for a quick and easy dinner for your family, especially on those busy nights jam packed with extra-curriculars! After weeks of training, the JD Cross Country team competed in the Regional Meet at Gibbons Park on Tuesday, October 8th. The sun was shining, the weather was warm, and the JD runners were HOT! We had over 70 runners join the team this year for early morning practices to prepare for this exciting race. Their dedication to improving their running abilities is to be commended. All of our runners had fabulous results and we are lucky to have 16 runners moving on to the TVDSB Cross Country finals at Fanshawe Conservation Area on October 22nd. Congratulations to the following finalists: Ben Van B., Joon Y., Emily P, Elise D, Gwen M, Zian C, Timothy S, Claire H, Dean B, William S, Andrew C, Natalie H, Fraser W, Molly B, Colbie Y, and Ryan A.

November 11th - Remembrance Day assembly at 9:30am in the gym. Parents and families are welcome to join us as we recognize and honour this very important day.
