Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Russ Booth
February 4th, 2024
The first week of the second semester is complete and the students did a great job getting to where they needed to be Monday morning! This was the first year we utilized Aspen to push the new schedules out instead of a homeroom period, and the students were well prepared coming into the building this week.
We hosted our annual Opportunities Night for incoming 9th grade families this past Wednesday. We tried a new structure this year to increase engagement and learning about the great things MHS has to offer. Students and their families listened to a short presentation in the auditorium before they were given the opportunity to travel through the building on a quasi "scavenger hunt." Students were able to tour the building and talk with current students to learn about the various clubs and activities offered, as well as interact with our Department Chairs and ask them questions about the various course offerings we have at MHS. The night was a huge success, and I would like to thank all of our students, counselors, and department chairs for their work in organizing and running the night!
Please be sure to take a look through the newsletter for new information and updates about things happening at MHS. Also note that Report Cards have been published and are available to view through the student Aspen portal.
Door Dash
We would like all parents/guardians to remind their child that we do not permit Door Dash or any delivery service to order food to the school. Thank you for your attention to this, as we want to be sure all our students are safe in school.

Mock Trial Competes against Oliver Ames
On Monday January 29, the MHS Mock Trial team traveled to Stoughton District Court to compete against Oliver Ames High School. MHS’s defense team was not only able to secure the verdict of not guilty of burglary, larceny and filing a false police report for their client but also won the match. The opening statement was performed by Sarah Hubbard. The direct examinations were done by Liam Cowan, Riya Singh and Callie Lake with the cross examinations conducted by Sarah Hubbard, Rachel Goldman and Cooper Ten Eyck. Key witnesses for the defense’s side were played by Sophia Knowles, Nishant Karri, and Conor Dadmun. Devnita Ray was the time keeper and Cooper Ten Eyck delivered the closing statement. The Mock Trial team is now 2-1.
