Motorized Bikes
We have seen an increase in motorized bikes being used by students to commute to school. We are reminding students that bikes (of any kind) should be walked once they are on the Crest View Campus. We’ve had some near accidents and we want everyone safe. Also, please refer to this guide on the types of bikes that are allowed/not allowed on Boulder Sidewalks. Please note that Toy Vehicles (pocket bikes) are not permitted at all.
Important Volunteering Information
There are 3 steps parents need to take to volunteer in our schools.
Complete the BVSD Volunteer Agreement (Spanish). and bring it to the office
Complete your RAPTOR background check
Bring a valid Drivers License or State ID to the school when you volunteer
If you are going on a field trip you may need to complete a CBI Fingerprint Check. If you complete this step you do not need to pay for your RAPTOR background check and this clearance lasts for 5 years. This process takes time so please plan ahead if you intend to volunteer on a field trip at any time this year.
Field Day is Friday, September 27th
K-1st~ 8:30-9:45 am
2nd-3rd~10:00-11:15 am
4th-5th~12:45-2:00 pm
Please Click HERE to sign up to volunteer to lead your student's team. If you are volunteering please arrive 10-15 minutes before their start time and check in through the front office.
Field Day is in need of boxes of FRUIT SNACKS for the Relaxation Station. If you can donate a box, please send it with your student any day before Sept. 27th.
Any questions, please email Ms. Dashiell at nikki.dashiell@bvsd.org
Gently-Worn Shoe Collection - Oct. 2- 16
The Gently-Worn Shoe Collection, in partnership with the Eco-Cycle/City of Boulder Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM), is an opportunity for the BVSD community to re-purpose shoes during the week of International Walk to School Day. Donated shoes will be sorted by Eco-Cycle staff members. Gently-worn shoes will be given to Soles4Souls, another non-profit organization, who will redistribute the shoes to be used by members of less fortunate communities around the world. Gently-worn, winter appropriate shoes will be redistributed by Eco-Cycle to BVSD schools in need of warm shoes for students to wear during recess. Since 2006, Soles4Souls has distributed more than 50 million pairs of shoes in 129 countries. Soles4Souls utilizes new and gently-used shoes as a resource to help entrepreneurs in developing nations with an opportunity to start and sustain small businesses of their own. Learn more at soles4souls.org.
Guidelines of the Gently-Worn Shoe Collection
Accepted: New or gently-worn shoes off all kinds.
Not Accepted: Dirty, ripped, or torn shoes.
Please:
