Fox Families,
Happy February! February is a wonderful time to encourage kindness, both at home and at school. We will be focusing on acts of kindness around the school throughout the month. We loved seeing so many of you at our First annual New Year Bash. It was such an exciting night.
Reminders & Announcements
✅ Winter Weather Preparedness – Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for colder temperatures, as we still have outdoor recess when the wind chill is above 20 degrees. In case of inclement weather, school closures or delays will be communicated through email, phone, and CCSD website.
✅ Car Loop: HAVE PATIENCE! :)
MORNING reminders: Please remember to be patient on cold, icy and snowy days. When we have bad weather our number of drop-offs increases and it takes much longer for us to get kids out of cars and into the building safely. PLEASE pull all the forward and try to keep the line moving. PLEASE Stay in your car and if your child needs help we can help. PLEASE do not let your child out of the car until you get past the picnic tables. If you let them out before this, it backs up the cars into the street and causes issues at the light.
AFTERNOON reminders:
PLEASE pull up as far as you can and keep the line going. We will send kids to you if you have to move past your child. Please leave the 3 parking spots near the crosswalk open for our students in car services. Please watch the crosswalk and the crossing guard (staff member). If you are walking to the school or back to the parking lot, ONLY cross over at the crosswalk. PLEASE try not to park in the fire lane and behind other cars.
✅ Scooter Parking CHANGES!
Scooters must be parked at the bike racks moving forward. The scooters inside the building are creating safety issues. See below!
✅ Parent-Teacher Conferences – Keep an eye out for sign-ups coming soon! This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress.
✅ Attendance Matters! – We appreciate your efforts in ensuring your child arrives at school on time and ready to learn each day. If your child is sick, please remember to report absences through the attendance line at 720-886-8795 or the app CAMPUS HUB.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Scooter Parking CHANGES!
PARENTS... please talk with your child about these NEW changes!
Due to the abundance of scooters in the halls we have decided that moving forward ALL scooters that can not fold up and go in a cubby will need to be parked/ locked up at the bike racks. We are looking for a solution to this growing problem but for now we need to move the scooters out of the halls. Currently we have scooters blocking halls and causing a hazard to the safety of all in the building. We did make an announcement at the end of the day and will add this to announcements the rest of the week. Please help your child with a lock and how to lock them at the racks.
Please notice FOXTROTTERS is at LIBERTY MIDDLE SCHOOL!
Student Council News:
Dear Fox Hollow families,
Dream on 3 is coming up! This is a week when Fox Hollow partners up with Grandview High School to help make a kid's DREAM come true. This year we are sponsoring a kid whose name is Matthew. Matthew is an 11 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy, who loves gymnastics and he idolizes Taylor Swift. This year we are raising money to help Matthew reach his DREAM of going to a Collegiate Gymnastics Meet as a VIP. To help raise money for Matthew, we are going to be doing a spirit week here at Fox Hollow! We would love it if everyone would participate and if possible, donate to make Matthew’s DREAM come true.
Our spirit week is February 24-28:
Monday, Feb. 24 - Favorite Sports Team Day
Tuesday, Feb. 25 - Wear your Swifty Gear
Wednesday, Feb. 26 - Flipping for Matthew - wear your flip flops!
Thursday, Feb. 27 - Gold Medal Day - wear gold!
Friday, Feb. 28 - Fox Hollow Spirit Day/School Store (All proceeds from the school store will go to Matthew’ DREAM)
Thank you everyone who is going to participate in helping make Matthew's dream come true.

Yep! It is Winter in Colorado! That being said, when your child(ren) have P.E., please make sure that they have gym shoes, tennis shoes, sneakers for class. This makes it easier for them to move and saves the floor! I appreciate your support with this!
All classes have finished hockey now, some are doing lacrosse while others are doing a scooter unit! Students are definitely keeping busy in the gym!
Kindergarten students have made great growth on their phone numbers and addresses! This is an easy activity for you to practice with your child(ren). As far as physical activity, students are continuing to work on throwing, catching, defending a target, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Ask them to tell you about the games they are playing!
We have even had a couple of days of PARACHUTE! I always tell kids that the parachute is such a fond memory for most people’s elementary school days. Do you remember it?
Once again, here is your friendly reminder that we will have Field Day in May. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 9, 2025! This fun-filled day is a student favorite and we LOVE to have lots of parent volunteers for it! There will be more information about this in 2025!
Thank you!

Health and Wellness Reminders from CCSD Health Services
More information can be found at The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)
How Sick is Too Sick? / (¿Qué tan enfermo es demasiado enfermo?)
The best way to remain healthy and prevent illness from spreading is through good handwashing habits (washing hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water after using the bathroom, blowing nose, sneezing/coughing, and before/after eating), getting vaccinated for preventable diseases, and staying home when sick!
Stay home when sick!
- If your student is not feeling well enough to take part in their usual activities, due to illness symptoms, they should stay home.
- If your student needs to be picked up from school, have a plan in place to pick them up as soon as possible.
Fever
- Defined as a body temperature over 100.4° F.
- Students may return to school after being 24 hours fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication such as Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin (ibuprofen).
Vomiting/Diarrhea
- Students may return to school 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting and/or diarrhea unless it is caused by an illness that requires them to stay home longer.
- If your student has a medical condition that causes them to have a baseline of spit-up, reflux, or loose stools regularly, notify your school nurse, so we can best support your student's success.
- Remind students to cough into their elbow, this helps keep the hands clean from illness and can decrease the spread of illness.
- Keep your student home if the cough is severe or uncontrolled.
- If a cough lasts longer than 2 weeks, we encourage checking in with your healthcare provider.
Lice
Signs of lice:
- Itching of the scalp, presence of live lice, eggs attached to the hair shaft, and/or small pinpoint scabs at the base of the hairline.
- If live lice are present, students may remain in school until the end of the school day; however, they cannot return until after receiving an approved pediculicide treatment per CDPHE guidelines.
- Reminder: lice is a nuisance and not a public health concern.
- This means it is not a reportable infectious disease, as it does not spread disease.
- It is not due to poor hygiene habits.
- We do not send notification letters home when cases of lice are present.
- We do not perform routine classroom-wide lice checks.
Vaccines
- Many childhood/school-aged illnesses can be prevented by receiving routine vaccines. Talk with your provider or school nurse for more information.
Wishing all students, parents/guardians, and staff a healthy school year!
