LETTER FROM DR. WALDRIP
Dear PTA members,
As PTA members, you know the value of community in our schools. When you see or hear of a
need, you work to fill it! Frisco Threads is a powerful testament to that commitment, and the
District is thankful for your partnership.
In the interest of continual improvement and transparency, the District has worked to create a
District Accountability Report that reflects how we work as a learning organization. The report is
anchored in our six future-ready focus areas.
The first 30 pages of the 2022-23 District Accountability Report provide an overview of who we
are as a District and what we are prioritizing as goals in our future. The final 70-plus pages are
the Campus Accountability Reports. Each campus created a reflection on their focus areas for
the past year and an update on how they addressed each priority. Please take a moment to
check those out.
It’s easy for a large organization to lose sight of its mission and goals. So, we in Frisco ISD
continually reflect on our mission of knowing each child’s name and need while encouraging
them to embrace future-ready learning opportunities. This powerful orienting force drives
teachers, students, and administrators every day.
Thank you for tirelessly supporting students, their teachers, and the campus. You go out of your
way to seek out opportunities for enriching experiences for students, and our entire district
benefits from your leadership and involvement.

LETTER FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT
Hello Frisco ISD Families!
I can’t believe that we are already heading into Thanksgiving Break. This year has gone by so quickly and it is hard to comprehend how much our Local PTA’s have packed into the fall semester! They have been working tirelessly to bring great events and programs to their campus and we are truly blown away by all that they have accomplished! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring for all of our campuses!
With that said, our Local PTAs could not do what they do without their members and their support. If you have not yet joined your local PTA or renewed your membership, please consider joining. Your membership truly matters and will make a difference on your campus. One of the most asked questions about joining a PTA is whether or not you are expected to volunteer. Although you are always welcome to volunteer, just becoming a member is doing your part for your local campus(es). We are a member driven organization and the more members that we have, the bigger voice we have to advocate for our students and the more money we have to do what we do day in and day out on local campuses.
Additionally, when you join a local PTA in FISD, you are becoming a part of a bigger PTA Family. You become one of nearly half-million members of Texas PTA and one of nearly four million members of National PTA. Texas PTA and National PTA add another level of advocacy and support for our children. Many of the benefits our children receive today, such as universal kindergarten, the National School Lunch Program, and a juvenile justice system, were accomplished as a result of the PTA mission. Here in Texas, the Texas PTA Board of Directors have traveled to Austin over the past several months to testify on public education bills on behalf of our students - You can see all those testimonies here. It is our hope that if you have not joined a local PTA that once you become a member, you truly see the value that PTA brings our children and community and how your membership truly makes a difference.
Please let us know if you have any questions or would like more information on anything included in our newsletter. We hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break and have time to relax and unwind!
Joyfully,
Cyndi Arakas, President
