Notes from Admin
Good afternoon Titan Families,
We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our Boosterthon IROCC Fun Runs for 2024! Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we surpassed our fundraising goal, and we couldn't be more grateful. A special thanks goes out to our Committee Chairs, Amanda Weber and Carrie Whiteside, for their tireless efforts and dedication. Their leadership, combined with the enthusiasm of our teachers, staff, volunteers, parents, and administration made this event a resounding success. We are continually amazed by the generosity and spirit of Titan Country. Your support will directly benefit our school community through a variety of exciting projects. We look forward to sharing updates on the positive impact of this year's fundraising. Thank you again for your unwavering support!
Please see below regarding a change in the use of SmartWatches at school in accordance with district and state guidelines.
CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Pfountz's third grade class for winning Titan Country's GOLDEN SPOON AWARD for consistent demonstration of IROCC Expectations in the Cafeteria for the week of September 28-October 4!
Learning and Growing Together Every Day,
Brigitte A. Wagner
Parents, please note this change with SmartWatches (in accordance with district and state law)
Smart Watches/Student Cell Phones | Please note, as previously communicated by the Fort Mill School District, a state law is in place that prohibits students from accessing or using "personal electronic communication devices" during the school day. Personal communication devices include smart watches, cell phones, and any form of communication device not authorized for classroom use by a student, utilized to access the internet, WiFi, or cellular telephone signals. Cell phones and Smartwatches should be turned off and kept in their bookbag. A cell phone/smartwatch may not be used during the day to play games, make calls, or to send text messages. Students can utilize the phone in the front office to contact parents if needed. These devices may not be worn during state testing.
As noted in School Board Policy JICJ, the school principal or his/her designee will have the authority to limit the use, take disciplinary action and/or confiscate electronic communication devices if the use or possession of these devices may cause or is causing a disruption to the school and/or event. Unauthorized use of a cell phone or personal electronic device may include, but is not limited to, taking pictures or recording without permission, cheating, harassment or bullying, use during any emergency drill, use during unauthorized time or use for unlawful activities.
First Offense: Student warning and email sent home to parents
Second Offense: Device is taken by teacher for the day and parents are contacted
Third Offense: Device is given to administration and parents will need to pick up the device from the office.

Years of Service!
At Tuesday's School Board Meeting, the district recognized faculty and staff that have 25 or 30 years of service to FMSD. Our very own Sam Kirkley, fifth grade, was recognized for having 25 years of service, WOW, what an accomplishment!!! Thank you Mrs. Kirkley for all you’ve done for the students and families you’ve served over those 25 years!
We are also honored to recognize several more incredible Titans who have dedicated 10, 15, or 20 (completed) years of service to FMSD! Their commitment to educating and supporting our students is truly inspiring. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and passion for making a positive impact on our community and Titan Country!

Help our Staff by Volunteering to Make Copies OR with Providing Duty Free Lunch
Parents, our school is in need of volunteers for making copies for our teachers and for Duty Free Lunch. We would love to offer our teachers the gift of time once per month with “Duty Free Lunch.” In order for this to be successful we need volunteers. To volunteer, please sign up using the link below.
Please note that this time volunteering for Duty Free Lunch will be a time spent helping actively monitor our students and enforce our Lunchroom Expectations. Each volunteer will be assigned an area to help enforce these expectations. We could not do this without an awesome team of volunteers! Thank you Titan Country!
