As we move through this school year, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to each of you for your ongoing support, dedication, and care. Your involvement and encouragement have a significant impact on our students' experiences and success, and we couldnât do this without you.
Thank you for fostering a love of learning at home, participating in school events, volunteering your time, and providing a strong partnership between school and home. Every step you take to support our school and teachers allows us to create a welcoming, nurturing environment for all children.

Friendly Reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up on:
- Tuesday, November 12th, and Wednesday, November 13th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- If you havenât scheduled your conference yet, itâs not too late!
- Please call the main office at 614-365-6137 to set up an appointment.

At Fort Hayes, 1,500 turkeys and sides will be given out.

Pathway Express is Arriving Soon for Destination 2 â the Zoo!
Join Columbus City Schoolsâ Pathway Express on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (4850 W Powell Rd., Powell, OH 43065), for a day full of exploring STEM and Zoology! During Decemberâs Pathway Express event, learning will be centered around Critical Thinking, a key quality in our Portrait of a Graduate. This means helping our students analyze and apply evidence-based reasoning to understand âbig pictureâ challenges and how solutions affect other parts of a system. See what the excitement is about and be one of the 15,000+ families who have embraced an innovative approach to education through inclusive learning experiences aligned to Ohio Standards. Families must register in advance for tickets.
Ticket registration begins on Monday, November 18 at noon. Free transportation is provided! Buses will shuttle families from Northland, Walnut Ridge, South, and West High Schools to the zoo and back. Buses will depart from each school at 3:00 p.m. and will depart the zoo at 8:00 p.m. to drop families back off at the school that evening.

Is your Parent Portal Account Activated? Stay engaged in your child's education by setting up and signing into the Columbus City Schools Parent Portal. Through the Parent Portal, you'll be able to securely access valuable information on your student(s):
- Teacher Contact
- Grades and Course Schedules
- Daily Attendance
- Missed Assignments
- Update Contact Information
Activating the Parent Portal is Easy.
1. Go to our website at www.ccsoh.us and click on the Students and Families Tab.
2. Click on the Parent Portal box at the bottom of the page
3. Click on the button that says NEW USER ACTIVATION
4. Enter your ACTIVATION CODE (contact your school to obtain one if needed)
5. Follow the prompts to set up your username/password and to add a recovery email address.
6. If you have forgotten your username/password, click on EXISTING USER in the Portal, then click FORGOT USERNAME/PASSWORD, and the information will be sent to the email used to set up the account. If you no longer have access to the email you used when setting up the account, please send a picture ID and your student's name and date of birth to parentportalaccess@columbus.k12.oh.us
