Message From Our Principal
This week we got to celebrate our October leadership winners for the character trait of Responsibility at an assembly on Monday. I am proud to say that our Thunder Eagles were super respectful and had great assembly behavior! During the assembly we introduced our November character trait of Gratitude. We are looking forward to focusing on Gratitude this month! One way to think about Gratitude is “choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives.” Practicing Gratitude can increase our well-being and our happiness.
Have some fun connecting as a family this month while practicing Gratitude. Talk about some small, specific things that you are Grateful for. Maybe it is your favorite water cup, the way the cat sleeps on the chair, or when your grandma bakes banana bread. Spend some time as a family trying to think of at least 10 small things that you have Gratitude for and then choose to notice them this week with a smile.
On Thursday, November 10th, we are encouraging students to wear Red, White, and Blue attire to the Veterans Day Assembly.
STEM Fair Poster Contest
We are so looking forward to the SBLSD STEM Fair on February 25th, 2023. As in past years, one of the most exciting ways we can encourage student participation in the event is through the poster contest. Key elements of the contest are as follows:
- All students grades K-12 are encouraged to enter.
- The winning design will be featured in STEM Fair promotional materials, and will receive special recognition at the event.
- Entries may be hand drawn, or electronic.
- All entries will be judged equally, regardless of age/grade.
- Entries can be submitted to Cindy Taylor at cindy_taylor@sumnersd.org
- The deadline for submission is Friday, November 18th.
Here is some information that can be shared with your buildings, added to family newsletters, or otherwise communicated to people in your networks:

Counselor's Corner
Hello Thunder Eagle families!! My name is Andrea Grant, and this is my fifth year as your school counselor at LRE. One of my roles is community coordinator, meaning I get to connect people with the services they need! We have a variety of community assistance available to any student and family in need. We have partnerships with The Bonney Lake Food Bank, Operation Warm, Dorian Studios, The Big Give, Giving Tree, SBLSD Family Center, and more! Please use this survey to sign up for community resources if it would benefit your family.
Additionally, you may also use this form if you are interested in sponsoring a student for our LRE Holiday Giving Tree and I will contact you in November when it is up and running :)
