Principal's Message
ILEARN Checkpoints - ICIS is not participating in NWEA this year. We are going to take the ILEARN checkpoints as our formative assessments. I have also attached a grade specific parent flier to this post. We will be taking the first Math and ELA checkpoint the third week of September.
IREAD RESULTS '23-'24 - The results are in for the Spring IREAD proficiency rates. Indian Creek Intermediate School had a fantastic pass rate of 91% -which is 10% higher that the state pass rate of 81.9%! This great achievement is due to the hard work from educators throughout the elementary school and intermediate and our high level of parent involvement! Thank you for this wonderful partnership. We look forward to continuing the hard work and success!

Counselor's Corner
Hi everyone! I am so happy to see new and “old“ faces this year! There is such a positive energy in our school right now and I must say…..YOU did an amazing job getting your student prepared for another school year. For those of you that don’t know me, I am Katie Leugers. I am the Mental Health Counselor for grades K-5. Yes, I am always busy, but wouldn’t want it any other way and I truly love my job! This year I am SO excited to be in the special rotations for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Your student will receive their guidance lesson during this time and I get to see EVERY student this year in a classroom setting. I truly believe this will help foster student/counselor relationships and help students feel a little more comfortable when they need someone to talk to or need extra support. I understand life situations arise, but please communicate with me and we will work together to better support your student.

We'd love to see you at our next meeting on Sept. 10th at 6pm in the ICES cafeteria. We also have a public group on Parent Square titled "NHJ PTO". Please join if you'd like to learn about more opportunities to get involved!
Food Pantry
The Braves Food Pantry is up and running and in need of volunteers! By partnering with Gleaners Food Bank, we are able to distribute food three times per month, twice at the Indian Creek Learning Center and once at the ICHS parking lot. Volunteering with the Braves Pantry is a great way to give back to our local community. Please register through this volunteer link. Thank you!
