Enjoy a safe and relaxing summer!
Step Up Day - Meeting our New Teachers
Grade 2 Field Trip
The 2nd Graders walked downtown to Unity Park, the Great Falls Discovery Center and the Turners Falls Fishway. At the Discovery Center, students went on a scavenger hunt to locate animals and learn about their habitats. At the Fishway, the students viewed lamphrey and shad and learned about their migration progress. Students participate in an activity in which they acted as fish and used their smell to find their "home river" to go spawn.
Grade 4 Field Trip
Fourth grade visited the Springfield Science Museum. While at the museum, students and staff visited the planetarium and learning about life in our universe and how scientists are researching different planets using technology. Students also participated in a hands-on activity focused on animal adaptations for their survival through environmental factors. Museum staff commended Sheffield students for their knowledge, participation, and respectful interactions with peers and the museum staff.
Please encourage your learner to practice their math facts and read daily over the summer to prevent the academic "summer slide".

First Annual Kickball Games
The cheering was loud on the final day of school as classes played each other in three kickball games. For the fourth and final kickball game, the staff challenged the student council members and the crowd was going wild as the staff took an early lead and kept it going!
