Friday 22nd March 2024
Kia ora Koutou,
We extend our warmest thanks to all parents and caregivers who participated in our Parent-Teacher Conferences. These conferences serve as a vital opportunity for us to connect, discuss your child's progress, and collaborate on strategies for their continued academic and personal growth. Your involvement is invaluable in ensuring the success of our students, and we look forward to insightful conversations that will further strengthen the home-school partnership.
This Friday, we eagerly anticipate the Mount Biggs Tough Kid event. With the weather forecast promising a great day ahead, we're excited for our students to engage in a day filled with challenges, teamwork, and fun. This event not only promotes physical fitness but also fosters resilience, determination, and camaraderie among our students. We encourage all participants to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and enjoy every moment of this memorable occasion.
We extend congratulations to all our students who participate in sports, both representing our school and within their own clubs. Your dedication, discipline, and passion for sports are truly commendable. Whether it's on the field, court, or track, your achievements inspire us all. We encourage our students to share their experiences and successes with their peers, fostering a culture of support and encouragement within our school community.
As educators, we recognize the importance of holistic development, and sports play a significant role in nurturing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We encourage all our students to pursue their sporting endeavors with enthusiasm and determination.
As a Tumuaki I extend our gratitude to parents, guardians, teachers, and students for your continued support and commitment to our West End School community. Together, we create an environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Our West End Student Council
From Marwa Imran - Student Council President
In Student Council during the last couple of weeks we have learnt to write an email to teachers. We have asked them for a meeting with their class to ask what ideas they have to make our school a better place. We met with Tipuranga classes this week and we are using their ideas and the ideas of every other class we have talked to and come up with projects to improve our school. We will be writing proposals to Mr West who will decide if these ideas will work. I enjoy being in Student Council because I love going into other classes and helping them. I am proud to be Student Council President because I am a great leader and am looking forward to working with students, teachers and Mr West.
