Dublin High School Newsletter
Week of October 28, 2024
Message from the Principal
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, grandparents, and guardians who joined us for the week long student-led parent conferences at Dublin High School. Your participation helped make this event an incredible success with an outstanding turnout.
Most importantly, these conferences allowed students to take an active role in assessing their progress. By reflecting on their work, grades, attendance, strengths, and areas for growth, students were able to communicate their learning journeys directly with you. This invaluable experience not only fosters their self-assessment skills but also strengthens the essential connection between home and school.
Thank you once again to everyone who contributed to this meaningful initiative. Your involvement truly makes a difference in bridging our school community. If you were unable to attend during your designated day last week, we will be holding makeup sessions from Monday to Wednesday, October 28-30. Simply drop by the school, and one of our counselors or the family engagement coordinator will be happy to meet with you.
Thank you!
Michael Overstreet

Accelerated Career Pathways offer qualified students a unique path to high school graduation. Students choose to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college Associate of Applied Science Degree, Technical Diploma, an approved program that leads to licensure, or two (2) approved Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC’s) in a specific career pathway. Accelerated Career students will utilize the “ACE” Grant to cover their pathway of choice, and must be enrolled in a TCSG institution. JROTC Quiz Bowl
Dublin High School is excited to announce the formation of its first-ever JROTC Leadership Academic Bowl (JLAB) team, marking an exciting new chapter in our commitment to academic excellence and leadership development.
“By participating in JLAB, our cadets are not only preparing for higher education but also showcasing the strengths of our JROTC program while building a strong foundation for future success,” explained Dublin High School’s Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, Lt. Col. Bailey.
The JLAB competition pushes cadets to excel in both academic and leadership areas, focusing on essential topics such as leadership principles, current events, and core subjects including English, math, and science.
“JLAB encourages cadets to sharpen their minds while reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership,” said Lt. Col. Bailey. “It also helps them develop test-taking skills for college admissions exams, fostering greater interest and readiness for higher education.”
Based on their academic performance, leadership abilities, and commitment to excellence, the following cadets have been selected for the DHS AFJROTC JLAB Team: Sarah Anderson (not pictured), Jordan Bostic, Dwane Bouyer, Melissa Sanchez, Rashun Waters, and Kristina Williams.
Fighting Irish Family, join us in congratulating these dedicated cadets who are paving the way for success both in competition and in their future pursuits, aligning with Dublin City Schools' vision of developing globally competitive students.
Heros Honor Run - JROTC
Dublin High School's JROTC is holding its first-ever Veteran's Day Heroes Honor Run on Monday, November 11th from 8:00 AM - NOON to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. The event will be held at the DHS track.
The cadets will be divided up into teams of 4 or 5 cadets. The team of cadets will raise funds through a per lap sponsorship. There is a 25 lap maximum so if a cadet has a sponsorship of .10 cents per lap the team will raise $2.50.
We are excited about this opportunity and believe it will be a great benefit to DHS and the community. If you are interested in sponsoring a cadet or would like more information, please email Lt. Col. Bailey at greg.bailey@dcsirish.com.
