August 23, 2024 Family Newsletter
Dear Families,
Week 2 has been productive and we loved being with you all at North Shore on Tuesday!! Our 9th graders raised over $600 for their spring capstone trip! The FTA raffled off their first experience and Sloan Kashanipour was our Junior Fire Marshall for the fire drill on Thursday!
Thank you for your support during drop off and pick up! We are able to safely exit 400 students in just over 10 minutes in the afternoon! Thank you for following all traffic patterns and rules! Your children are learning from your great example!
Dr. Maria Montessori observed 4 distinct planes of development in humans. You can learn more about your child and what to expect during their ages/stages here.
Next week there are more opportunities to get involved! Choir begins, theater auditions take place, and Maria Montessori’s 154th birthday celebration and MMAs 15th birthday will happen! Join us for an italian ice from Zeppes on Friday the 30th (the first 100 students will get a free treat and you can purchase additional treats for only $3!)
Our character traits of the month are; Respect and Safety.
Respect is the regard and consideration for the rights, feelings, and traditions of others.
Safety is the condition of being protected from harm or danger.
Together, they ensure a secure and considerate environment where students feel valued and supported.
Our school wide goals for this year are below.
Enhance family engagement and support by developing comprehensive resources and workshops that equip parents with the knowledge and skills to actively participate in their children's educational journey and overall development.
Implement evidence-based strategies and proactive behavior interventions to foster a positive school culture and improve student behavior, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.
Implement sustainable practices and supportive initiatives that prioritize teacher well-being, reduce workload stressors, and foster a positive school culture, ultimately eliminating teacher burnout and enhancing job satisfaction.
Expand and enhance enrichment opportunities for advanced students by developing specialized programs, providing tailored resources, and fostering mentorship opportunities, ensuring each student's intellectual curiosity and potential are maximized.
Acadience progress monitoring and RISE benchmarking will be used to create reteaching and differentiation groups and students will become familiar with the assessment platforms and review their own progress.
Thank you for having your student at school and ready to begin their day in the classroom at 8:30am. The routines we set now will help us maintain a healthy community and positive learning environment throughout the year. Any student who is not in class at 8:35 will be marked absent. Parents dropping students off after 8:35 must sign students in at the office. Thank you for keeping sick kids at home and for excusing absences as needed.
Please refrain from checking students out of school during recess and lunch times and 15 minutes prior to dismissal unless absolutely necessary.
