No Fear
A SEW 2022 Daily Devotional - January 9th
Devotional
What do you think people are afraid of? We live in a culture now that for the most part is moved by fear. A global pandemic, that does not appear to be going away anytime soon, has added to the fear catalog that people refer to of things that have the potential to get us hiding or shut us down.
The question right now seems to be “When is this going to end?” We always want to know when the bad things that hit our life are going to end. Why? Because we can’t control them and the effect they may have on our lives. Controlling outcomes is always in the mix when it comes to us and our fears.
But “When is it going to end?” is probably the wrong question. It implies that the object of our fear has to change in order for us to move forward…get back to normal.
In Mark 5:36 Jesus gives some direction to a man who is terrified. His Word to him... “Do not Fear. Just Believe.” Why those words? Because one is internal…and the other is Eternal. One paralyzes…the other has momentum.
Today, don’t be shut down by fear…run with it and in confidence of the One who does control everything. Perfect Love Casts Out Fear.
