Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
Well, the last day of school is finally here! What a year for our BHS students!
We started school after labor day trying to navigate the logistics of a new building. Now, when we think back to September 2023, it feels like a long time ago. Our new One Bulldog Place high school building feels like home for our students!
Over the summer, we will continue to add branding to our main foyer and continue to look for ways to showcase our amazing students. When everyone returns in August, it’s certain to look even a little more celebratory.
Mr. Buis has included some important information about parking passes, and we’ve linked in some other important information for your reference. Please be on the lookout for emails from us throughout the summer, especially as the beginning of the school year draws near.
We certainly wish all of our Bulldogs a wonderful summer break and encourage anyone to reach out if there are any questions or concerns.
There will be limited staff in the building in June and July. The best way to contact us is through email, and we will get back to you. More staff will be back in the building on August 1, 2024.
Thank you for allowing us to work with your students. They are truly important to us!
In service to our Bulldogs.

Attention BHS 2024-2025 Student Drivers.
In this email you will find important information regarding student parking passes for the 2024-2025 school year:
Parking Pass Prices:
$40 = Standard Parking Pass (valid for entire 2024-2025 school year.)
$60 = Senior Parking Pass w/ the option to paint/decorate your spot. (This is for seniors only. This is not required and seniors can purchase the standard parking pass if they do not wish to paint/decorate their spot.)
$20 = 2nd Semester Only Parking Pass - Available January 6th, 2025 (This option will be available at the start of 2nd semester for new drivers who receive their license during the 2nd semester of the school year.)
Parking Pass Important Information/Rules:
Parking pass sales will begin on Monday July 21st, 2024 at 8am. Spots 1-79 will be reserved for the first 79 seniors who purchase a pass. The remaining spots behind the football field will be designated to our juniors and sophomores. Parking pass purchases can be made through EZ Pay on the school website. The parking pass purchases are time stamped in the order of purchase. This will determine the spot each student will receive.
Parking pass distribution information will be available at a later date in August. Please monitor your student emails for important updates.
Seniors who choose to paint and decorate their spots must not paint over their spots number and parking spot lines. (More info to come regarding time and date for decorating spots.)
Tardies have become an issue. Students who choose to purchase a student parking pass and provide their own transportation must do so with the understanding that students must be on time to school. If tardies are an issue then administration reserves the right to revoke a student's parking pass.
Safety!!! Any student operating a motor vehicle on campus must operate their vehicle safely. Any students caught speeding or making other unsafe choices will have their parking pass revoked. Administration will determine the level of consequence based on the unsafe behavior.
Have a great summer break.

Dear Valued Batavia School District Families,
We are thrilled to announce an enriching opportunity to embrace cultural exchange within our community. We are seeking a warm and welcoming family to host a bright and enthusiastic exchange student, a young boy from Mexico, for a few months starting in late August 2024 through the Rotary Youth Exchange program. He will have several host families throughout the 2024-25 academic school year.
This is a unique chance to open your hearts and homes, to share your family's traditions, and to make a lasting impact on a student's life while learning about the rich heritage of Mexico. As a host family, you will play a pivotal role in providing a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters educational growth and cultural understanding.
If you are interested in this rewarding experience and wish to create lifelong international friendships, please contact us for more details by emailing the address below.
Let's come together to make this a memorable time for our exchange student and your family!
