Hispanic Heritage Month Overview
McClure Health Science HS organized a variety of welcoming festivities and contests for National Hispanic Heritage Month, which spanned from September 15 to October 15. Events included "Hispanic Spirit Days," during which every student dressed up and displayed flags from various Hispanic nations throughout the school to show their pride in Hispanic cultures.
In addition to these spirited displays, our dedicated students participated in various art and design projects, writing competitions, and quiz bowls, all while celebrating the rich culture of Hispanic heritage. Not to mention our faculty and staff highlights, which allowed individuals to share their unique experiences and information from their Latin countries of origin.
The pinnacle of our festivities was the Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival, a gathering open to all students, staff, and their families. This lively event featured a skilled DJ, delectable cuisine, exuberant dancing, and a culminating moment of joy when a piñata was enthusiastically smashed. Students were encouraged to wear traditional heritage attire, further contributing to the celebration of their diverse backgrounds.

FAFSA Information
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is the gateway to getting federal student loans, scholarships, grants, and work-study for school, but there can be so much confusion around it.
The FAFSA® used to be a super long application that took a lot of time and effort—that’s now a thing of the past. The FAFSA® for the 2024-2025 academic year is the new and improved version. Check out the link below to see all the changes!
Tips on how to avoid these common FAFSA® mistakes
Every year, families postpone filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Some skip it entirely because they think it’s a waste of time, the application is too long, or it's only a fast track to federal student loans. However, the FAFSA® package can also include college scholarships, work-study, and grants. Not filling it out—the most costly FAFSA® mistake—can result in losing money that could have helped you pay for college. Don’t be that student, and make sure you avoid these common FAFSA® mistakes by checking out the article link below!
