A WORD FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, DR. WILLIAMS
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well as we settle into our second week back from winter break. It has been wonderful to see our hallways and classrooms filled with energy and enthusiasm as students reconnect with their teachers, friends, and studies. Thank you for all you do to support your child’s learning and help make this transition into the new year a smooth one.
As we look ahead to the coming months, we are beginning to gear up for testing season. This is a critical time for our students to solidify their understanding of the material and develop strong academic habits that will serve them well, not only for the tests ahead but throughout their educational journey. To support our students, I want to emphasize three key areas of focus:
Arriving to school on time: Punctuality is essential for a successful school day. When students arrive on time, they can fully engage in their morning routines and begin each day with focus and readiness. Being present and prepared sets the tone for a productive day of learning.
Asking questions in class: Learning thrives on curiosity. We encourage students to actively participate in their classes by asking questions when they need clarification or want to explore a topic more deeply. This not only helps them understand the material better but also builds confidence and critical thinking skills.
Completing all assignments: Assignments are an opportunity for practice and reinforcement of skills. Staying on top of homework and classwork ensures students are prepared for upcoming lessons and assessments. It’s also a great way for them to show pride in their work and take ownership of their learning.
In addition to these focus areas, I’d like to remind you that our teachers and staff are here to support every student. If your child is struggling with a particular subject or needs additional help, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teachers or our school counselors. We’re all part of the same team working toward your child’s success.
Finally, I want to thank you for your partnership. Your encouragement and involvement at home play a significant role in your child’s academic achievements. Together, we can ensure that this second half of the school year is both productive and rewarding for all our students.
Thank you for your continued support, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Let’s make 2025 a fantastic year of learning and growth!

Car Rider Guidelines
In an effort to ensure student safety, the following procedures are to be followed:
All drivers must refrain from cell phone usage. It is a school zone law.
We must keep the circle part of the pickup area clear for emergencies. Please do not pull into the circle until directed to do so.
All cars must pull all the way forward to the end of the drop off and pick-up zone.
We have limited parking, and it is reserved for our Truitt staff. Please do not park in these spaces.
Please do not drop off or pick-up by the bus ramp.
Please do not drop off or pick-up students on the street. Yorkpoint Dr. is not a drop off point.
As you exit the parking lot make sure you turn right ONLY.
Follow our staff members directions.
We share the car rider line with our Special Education buses, please be patient. They enter on the right side.
Line should only be on Hamstead Park. Not coming in from Addicks Satsuma.
Please be kind. Do not block the driveways and do not skip the line.
We appreciate your assistance with keeping our car riders safe!
