Brian Mendler - Why Kids Disengage and Misbehave and What to Do About it!

Description: Before applying strategies to change unwanted behavior and disengagement, we must first correctly diagnose why the behaviors are occurring. Without understanding the why, then most strategies will ultimately fail. Learn to diagnose and understand the 6 main reasons why students disengage and misbehave. Discover how to apply the correct strategies for each student to address individual needs. Want kids to show up to your online or in-person class, then you will want to hear Brian’s number one strategy to get maximum participation.
Monica Burns - Fostering Creativity in the Virtual Environment

Description: This session will explore how to design opportunities for creation in the classroom in any subject area. This session will introduce strategies to support student creativity at a distance and in a traditional classroom, as well as free and low-cost open-ended creation tools. Rick Bray - Intro to Coding
Join us for a great session around coding in the PK-12 environment!

Description: Coding is much more typing lines of "code" or clicking directional blocks together to make something move. Coding is really about using a pre-planned, logical series of steps to create a desired result. We will talk about how terms like "outcome", "feedback", "adjustment", and "ideation" can help our students all the way from Pre-Kindergarten to High School Seniors, use coding in multiple content areas.
Karen Dudgeon - Fostering Resilient Learners day 3!
Date: 5/25/2021
Description: We have had so much fun learning about resilience for our kids, we are going to continue our conversation for a third session. We will again be solely in your classroom with examples for kids Pre-K through Seniors. We will talk about how to manage challenging behaviors and encourage a path to success. If you missed our first two sessions, you are most welcome as this hour-long session will be designed to jump right in!

- Utilizing Microscopes in Remote and Hybrid Environments - June 16th - Educators can borrow the compound and handheld microscopes that will be used for this session!
- Cricut 101: A Beginners Guide - June 17th - Educators can use the Cricut Maker Machine at the Teacher Center or sign one out for use in district!
