Weekly Community Updates - August 16, 2024
Dear Students and Families,
The first full week of school is complete! We ended it with an energetic Welcome Back rally. The students were introduced to staff members and students played games that put class vs class.
I hope that students are settling into their classes well. Families should always feel welcomed to reach out directly to their student's teachers and/or their student's counselor. Families can find teacher's emails on ParentVUE and counseling information is below in the counseling section.
As I shared last week, please calendar the following two September dates but, also, find our calendar on our website. Please note that our calendar can be added to your digital calendar by clicking the plus sign towards the bottom by the "google calendar" logo.
- Wednesday September 11th, Staff Development - No Students
- Thursday September 19th, Back to School Night and OSPTO starts at 6:00 pm
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Take care,
Maritza Torres

OSPTO Treasurer Needed!
OSPTO, Oceana's parent organization, is looking for a treasurer. This is an excellent position for someone interested in the financial aspects of small non-profit management. The Treasurer gets to participate in almost all aspects of OSPTO activities, and many times is the first person to realize and share how much good OSPTO is doing. OSPTO's books are in order and well-kept. The outgoing treasurer will be around to answer any and all questions.
Please contact our OSPTO's president, Dave McCarroll at mccarroll67@icloud.com for more information!
