October Update
We want to thank all of our families who attended our Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday evening! It was great to connect with so many families and have the students show off the amazing things they are doing in the classroom. A big thank you to our incredible teachers for all the work and organization they do to prepare for Parent Teacher Conferences. We are so grateful for the parent volunteers and Rudolph Hennig junior high volunteers who ran our book fair and to everyone who purchased items, we can't wait to select some new books for our library with the proceeds we made!

Information Items
Halloween Fun
We invite students to come dressed in their costumes for the day! Please make sure costumes are school appropriate and not too scary for our other students, especially our younger students. For costumes that include a mask, students are able to wear it during the Halloween parade in the afternoon but then need to have it off during the rest of the day. Students are also reminded to leave weapon accessories at home for Trick-or-Treating!
Remembrance Day Assembly
Our Remembrance Day Assembly will be presented by the students in 3M and 3/4L. All staff and students are asked to dress their best for the assembly. Any students who are part of Cubs, Brownies, Girl Guides, or Cadets are able to wear their uniforms that day. All families are invited to attend the assembly.

Evacuation Drill
An evacuation is used when it is unsafe to remain inside the building. In an evacuation, students and staff exit the building and gather at a designated location outside the school. In the event students and staff must remain outside for an extended period of time, they may move to our alternate indoor evacuation centre. With safety as a top priority, we will continue to review emergency preparedness procedures with staff and students and will hold a variety of drills throughout the school year.
Absences
Please remember to report any absences to the school. With cold and flu season upon us, we wanted to remind families that when you are reporting your child’s absence, please remember to give a reason for the absence. If it is due to illness, please provide symptoms. It is not enough to say they are “unwell” or “won’t be in.” We are required to monitor student illness symptoms by Alberta Health. You may get a call-back for more information if reasons or symptoms are not provided.
