This week we are recognizing "Start with Hello" Week to promote a welcoming and inclusive school culture. Also, Tuesday, 9/12, is picture day for Kindergarten-5th grade students. Elementary students may wear free dress for Picture Day.

We will also kick off our annual PTSA fall fundraiser this week. Be on the look out for more details coming out on Wednesday.

Thank you to the amazing team of volunteers who pitched in to help at the Foundation Wristband Booth at the Orange Street Fair! It was a great success and the Foundation brought in more tip donations this year because of you!

FALL FUNDRAISER - The PTSA is launching the Fall Fundraiser this Wednesday, September 13th. The PTSA is raising funds for Meet the Masters, the Music Program, Teacher Classroom Supply Grants, and fun community activities throughout the year. We chose Fund Hub as the online giving platform this year because it is easy to use and over 90% of the funds raised come straight back to the PTSA. Be on the lookout for an email detailing all the exciting prizes and information on how to get started!

This month we will have TWO CHOICES FOR FAMILY DINNER NIGHT ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13. Please stop by either Wahoo's or Bruxie's in Old Town Orange.

Attention all Middle School Students!

This year the OUSD is hosting a Middle School Cross Country Race on Wednesday, October 25th at 2 PM at Villa Park High School. The course is 2 miles. Interested students should email Ms. Manion at lmanion@orangeusd.org.

Many parents have been parking and exiting their cars while in the drive-through lanes. Please remember to park in a parking spot if you need to exit your vehicle. Also, do not drop off students across Palmyra as it is dangerous for them to cross the street without a cross walk. Parking in the drive-through lanes in the middle of the parking lot is prohibited. PLEASE REMEMBER TO PARK YOUR CAR IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE YOUR CAR FOR ANY REASON.

McPherson is participating in Start with Hello Week on September 11 – 15. During Start with Hello Week, we will engage in school-wide activities and opportunities that encourage everyone to build a welcoming and inclusive school culture. Please look at the schedule below, as well as the attachment for more information about our activities during this week.

Monday, September 11 – Hello Day! Greet people by their name and say HELLO!

Tuesday, September 12 – Post-It if it’s Positive Day! Leave a positive message for someone on a Post-It Note in class.

Wednesday, September 13 – Random Acts of Kindness Day! Do something kind for someone at school and encourage others to do the same.

Thursday, September 14 – Mix it up Day! Play with someone you do not usually play with and make a new friend.

Friday, September 15 – Wear Green Day! Wear green to promote Unity and Inclusivity.

If you would like to send your student(s) a free and fun surprise Hello Gram, please print a copy of the attachment below, fill it out and bring it to the main office by Thursday, September 14. There will be printed Hello Gram copies in the main office for parents/guardians to fill out as well. Please contact Ms. Keiser with any questions.

Middle School E-Sports club starts Tuesday from 3-4 in Mr. Turner's room. All 6-8 grade students are invited to come and play for fun and compete! The club meets every Tuesday after school. We will host several middle school tournaments this year and compete against other middle schools!

The Nightmare Before Christmas is being shown at El Camino Real Park 400 N. Main Street on Friday, September 22. Lawn Seating 6:00pm & Movie 7:00pm. See the flyer attached for all the details.
