FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
Northeast's Annual Multicultural Event is on Friday, November 22 from 5:30-7:30pm. We look forward to celebrating the many cultures that make up our Northeast Community. Students and Staff are invited to wear clothing and accessories that represent their culture on Friday at school!
We had a great visit on Thursday from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Acting Commissioner Johnston, Representative Stanley, and other officials from DESE, MBAE (Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education), One 8 Foundation and Ignite Reading. They were all impressed with Northeast and our first grade students who were participating in their 1:1 tutoring program with Ignite. This visit was an important one for state leaders as they consider an expansion of early literacy programs in Massachusetts. Northeast was honored to host!
As we are in this season of Thanksgiving, we are working on spreading kindness and being thankful at Northeast. We are sharing a daily kindness quote in our morning announcements and, thanks to an idea from our Fifth Grade Ambassadors, we will be making cards or notes the day before Thanksgiving for people that we are thankful for. Be sure to ask your student about adults at school that they are thankful for.
Now that the weather is getting colder, please make sure your child(ren) are wearing clothing appropriate for the weather. They should be coming to school with jackets!
We are also accepting coat donations - all sizes! Thank you 💙💛
Some of our Northeast students will be making an appearance in Waltham High School's production of Mamma Mia. You will see them in a special number and you will also see our own Ms. Bucci! The shows are Wednesday, November 20 at 4:00pm, Thursday, November 21 at 7:00pm and Friday, November 22 at 7:00pm. Tickets are sold at the door!
