Our weekly newsletter with important information!
Principal's Corner
Happy Tuesday Bulldog Nation Families,
Thank you to so many of our parents for their support, communication, and awareness during the past few weeks. TUSD hosted a Social Media Forum with the superintendent, joined by TUSD school safety and Tucson Police Department to address the concerns of parents and staff. If you would like you can watch the forum recording here.
We will also be hosting our very own Social Media & Cyber Safety Night at Mansfeld on Wednesday, October 16th at 6PM, and there will be dinner provided. Thank you to our PTSO for pioneering this for our families.
Yours in the service of education,
Luke van Schie, Principal

Student Code of Conduct Corner- Aggression
Questions often come up from parents regarding "Self-Defense" at school. TUSD's Code of Conduct, make three criteria very clear in determining whether aggression is "Self-Defense" or "Retaliation". Those three criteria are: De-escalating the Situation, Walking Away, or Notifying a School Official.
Please encourage your children to practice thee three strategies. Teach them to make peace, not war.
See TUSD's Student Code of Conduct for more information on the Levels and their Consequences here.

DC Field Trip
8th grade parents, it's not too late to sign your student up for this year's Washington DC trip. Also, it's a good time for 6th and 7th grade parents of students interested in going to start submitting tax credits towards their student's trip. Contact Mr. Brungardt or Mr. Weber for details or to answer questions.
