ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - Week of April 7, 2024
HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
VARSITY SOFTBALL
Lady Eagles Softball are now 3-2!
Softball went 2-2 in Myrtle Beach against 3 teams with division 1 committed pitchers! Very proud of their performance!
Softball beat Cedar Creek this week 2-0 in a pitchers duel. Madison Dollard had 14 strikeouts in the game. Kaci Velardi and Sienna Walterson each had an RBI and 2 hits in the game. Colbert, Pope, Jones, Mack, and Spatocco all had a hit in the game.
We face St Joe's today and then Lenape on Saturday!
VARSITY BASEBALL
The baseball team is off to a 3-0 start.
Offense has been led by Jay Salsbery, Jake Cagna, Jackson Conroy and DJ Williams. Picking up wins on the mound are Troy Sabott, Lawson McIntosh and Jay Salsbery. The Eagles begin divisional play today at Mainland.
BOYS SPRING TRACK
The boys Track Team started the season 1-0 with a victory over Vineland. The score was 105-35. Senior Matt Robertson won the Pole Vault, Senior Mike Simeon won the Shot Put, and freshman Jalen Bell won the High Jump.
GOLF
The Eagles golf team came out of spring break soaring towards state qualification. On Monday, they flew to Seaview Pines. Senior Captain Johnny Neveling led the way with 42. Junior Chase Adomaitis (43), Senior Carson Bellak (44) and Senior Andrew Lisa (48) rounded out the scoring.
On Tuesday, the Eagles protected their nest by shooting their best round of the season. Chase Adomaitis led the way with 38, carding three birdies. Johnny Neveling holed out for an eagle and a score of 39. Sophomore Julie Duggan shot 42 while Freshman Dylan Hawkins scored in his first ever high school match by shooting 44.
On Wednesday, the lady Eagles flew south to the prestigious Union League to compete in the second girls' event of the season. Julie Duggan and Junior Olivia Nehmad finished T2 with matching 46s. Sophomore Hazel Burgan was T10 with a birdie en route to a 53, with Freshman Camille More (54) one shot behind. Senior Shelby Barnes (57) posted her lowest round ever while recording her first ever birdie.
BOYS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
Boys Volleyball has started the season 4-1 with wins over ACIT, Cherokee, Pleasantville, and St. Augustine Prep. Senior outside hitter Chriistiian recently broke the school record for career kills with 294 (and counting) passing the previous record held by 2023 graduate Alec Barnes (260 kills). Sophomore standouts Bryce Lake and Thomas Norkevicius are shining as middle hitters with a combined 46 kills and 6 blocks.
GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL
History was made this Wednesday, April 10 as the first ever Girls' Flag Football team won their season opener against Ocean City 31-8. The Eagles had a dominant defensive effort and touchdowns were scored by Journey Green, Mariah Newman, Gabby Piantadosi, and Brielle VonColln (twice!) The girls have two tough matchups next week. Thursday, April 18 at Mainland, and their home opener Friday, April 19 4:15pm against Kingsway.

· No hard copies, emails or faxes will be accepted.
· Re-Cert packets and COVID Forms are now part of the registration question/process. No hard copies needed.

It can take up to 7 days for exams to be reviewed and for the student athlete to be cleared to attend tryouts and/or begin practice. REGISTER NOW!
