Spring Camp 2022!
Jag Band & Guard Photos
a note from your director
Wow!!! Here we are heading into the final week of school! How crazy is that! We have just a few celebrations to note and a few items that are happening this final week! But before we get to those items, let’s welcome our new readers!! We want to welcome all of the new parents and students to their first edition of the Johnson Band Booster Newsletter! For our new parents and students this will be a great source of information delivered to your digital device every week! It includes calendar updates, celebrations, reminders, pictures and much more! Speaking of celebrations, here we go!
Talk about worthy of a celebration!! This weeks spring training was absolutely awesome! We had an awesome turnout for both the camp, the parent meeting and the parent preview!
If what we witnessed this past weekend is an indicator of the future we can’t wait for what the fall will bring!!
Please share that if there were any friends or family members who are on the fence about High School Band or Color Guard (or want to come back!), we can still get them into our program. We will treat them similarly to students that move in from another school or district and give them some extra attention in summer band to try to get them caught up as quickly as possible. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the excitement and fun of the Johnson Jaguar Marching Band!!
Upcoming items! Make sure you keep an eye on the Calendar! The next major event we have happening for EVERYONE is the Breakdown Camp on June 21 & 22! This camp is a major part of our journey to success!! We need all Wind, Percussion and Guard members at this camp! Michael Rosales, one of the nations top dancer/choreographers will fly in with his team to work with our Johnson Jaguar Band students. The camp times are 4 - 8 p.m. in the same gym as our Parent Preview this past weekend! Can’t wait for these two days of excitement and movement!
We have several items this week that need to be mentioned. Graduation Band rehearsal is scheduled immediately after school on Wednesday!! We will distribute the graduation day schedule at that time! Remember, graduation is required of all non-senior members of Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony, plus any non-senior members of Symphonic Winds who would like to participate. Again, Graduation Band rehearsal is Wednesday immediately after school. 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. (please be prepared to possibly run a little longer if needed to get through all of the music being played at graduation since this is our last rehearsal)
Wind Ensemble Tobin Center rehearsal. Monday 4:30-5:30 p.m. and Tuesday 2 - 3 p.m. Refer to the Tobin Center Performance schedule for more details!
Reminders:
Tuxedos & Dresses must be returned now! If you still have your tuxedo or dress bring it to school this week!! Wind Ensemble will return theirs when we return from the Tobin Center Tuesday night!
Button Covers and Pearls! We are missing many button covers! Please make sure these are retuned! Check the pockets of your tuxedo. The button covers are small and often overlooked! We are missing more than half of the button covers and a few of the pearl necklaces. Let’s get those turned in this week!
Parents and Students please make sure that all information in Charms is updated! Simply log into Charms using your student's ID as their password or the password you have previously chosen for Charms account and update your data! Eights-grade parents and students, your Charms account is no longer with Dahlstrom or McCormick. It is now the Johnson Charms account, and you will need to log into the Johnson Charms to update.
