Important Notice: School Closure Tomorrow Due to Incoming Hurricane
Dear Parents and Families,
We are writing to inform you that all school operations for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30, will be cancelled due to the impending hurricane. The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families are our top priority, and we believe this precaution is necessary to ensure everyone's safety.
As of now, we are tentatively planning to resume our school operations on Thursday, August 31, pending further updates and assessments of the weather conditions. Please stay tuned for any updates through our official communication channels, including Brightwheel and the UCP of Central Florida Facebook page.
In light of the approaching hurricane, we want to provide you with some important tips to help you and your family prepare and stay safe:
- Stay Informed: Keep track of weather updates from reliable sources such as the National Hurricane Center (https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/) and local news channels.
- Emergency Kit: Prepare an emergency kit with essential supplies like water, non-perishable food, medications, flashlights, batteries, and important documents.
- Evacuation Plan: Know your evacuation routes and have a plan in place in case you need to leave your home.
- Secure Outdoor Items: Secure any outdoor furniture, equipment, or decorations that could become projectiles in high winds.
- Stay Indoors: During the storm, stay indoors and away from windows. Avoid using candles and use flashlights instead.
- Charge Devices: Charge your phones and other devices in case of power outages.
