As you read this, have no fear, we are just 4 weeks into summer break with 7 weeks to go! I hope all of our Kendall families have been enjoying the relaxed pace of summer. Now that the cicadas seem to have quieted a bit, its been nice to find time outside in the sunshine.

The Jerger family has been making the most of our summer break. Our oldest is home after her first year at U of I. We quickly adjusted back to a household of 4 and it is just wonderful her and her brother up late laughing and talking again. She and I hit up the Kenny Chesney concert two weeks ago. We are looking forward to a family trip to California next month to visit family and, of course, Disneyland. We are hoping to get up to the lake house one more time this summer but so far, our schedules don't seem to be matching up. I just feel like I could use the relaxation before the youngest starts driver's ed this fall....

Kendall is having another busy summer! Demo always goes a little faster than the rebuild and boy did our crews work fast ripping out the old! The leveling cement is on the floors now so we are looking forward to seeing the new floor go down soon. The circle drive is coming along with the final leveling happening now. Concrete next, then asphalt! Additional upgrades include an entirely rewired phone system as well as our new, fully operational security cameras. Kendall will have a nice sparkle when we return in the fall.

We are excited to introduce Mrs. Daniela Palumbo as our new Student Services Coordinator at Kendall. Mrs. Palumbo has searved in the SSC role at Brooks Elementary for two years. Prior to that, she served as a classroom teacher in IPSD204. Please join me in welcoming her to our Kendall Community!

Hello Patriots!

I am very excited to be working with you all at Kendall this fall. For the last two years, I held the role of a Student Services Coordinator at Brooks and before that, I taught 7th grade ELA/SS at Scullen for 15 years. During that time, I worked on getting my Masters in both Administration and Special Education. In my personal life, I am looking forward to celebrating my 8th wedding anniversary with my husband Joe in a few weeks and keep myself super busy with my 5 year old son, Leo, who will be starting Kindergarten this fall, and my 3 year old, Giorgio, who will be starting preschool. We also have a morkie (maltese/yorkie) named Zoe, who will be 14 in August. We are spending the summer in the pool, at outdoor festivals and will be traveling to Italy in July to visit family before getting back to “school mode.” I am looking forward to learning more about the wonderful community at Kendall that I keep hearing about and how I can support you all. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer break!

Student enrollment and class sections are being confirmed soon! If you have not registered for 24-25 NOW IS THE TIME!

We still have almost 75 students who have not registered! This could significantly impact our sections at Kendall.

If you know of any neighbors who have not yet registered their incoming Kindergartener, please ask them to do so as soon as possible.
