Speedway Hometown Parade
SHS Cheer Clinic for Pre-K to 6th Grade Students
The Speedway High School Cheerleaders will be holding a Cheer Clinic. Participants will be cheering at the varsity football game on October 11th. Any pre-K to 6th grade student can participate. We will have practice on Tuesday, October 8th and Thursday October 10th from 5:30 - 6:30 pm each night in the auxiliary gym at Speedway High School. On October 11th, at 6:30 pm we will meet by the fence on the north side of the bleachers.
-Pre-K - will cheer for a portion of the 1st quarter
-3rd - 4th cheer for a portion of the 2nd quarter
-5th - 6th cheer for a portion of the 3rd quarter
This years fee for the clinic is $30 per participant, this includes a t-shirt and bow. Each participant will be able to get into the game for free with their cheer shirt on. Admission to the game for the parents and family will be $7 per person, payable by cash only the night of the game.

Speedway Youth Basketball - Boys Needed!
The Speedway Youth Basketball League (SYBL) is designed for 3rd - 6th grade boys of all skill levels who enjoy the game and/or are interested in learning the fundamentals. The number of teams is dependent on the number of boys who sign up to play. All players are given the opportunity to practice and play in each game, no matter their ability.

Speedway Youth Basketball for boys in grades 5th/6th is a parent run league and relies on parent coaches and volunteers. When registering, please indicate how you are willing to help. Practices will be held at Allison Elementary and games will be held in the HS Auxiliary Gym.

What is TANF?
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families is a program that provides cash assistance and supportive services to assist families with children under age 18, helping them achieve economic self-sufficiency. TANF helps families with food, housing, home energy, childcare and job training.
Who is eligible for TANF?
Children under 18 who are living with their parent(s) or relative such as a grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc., who meet specific nonfinancial criteria and whose countable family monthly income meets certain guidelines.

What is SNAP?
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides food assistance to low and no income people and families living in the United States. SNAP benefits are provided on an EBT card. Parents/Guardians may use this money to purchase groceries at the store of their choice.
Who is eligible for SNAP?
To qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, applicants must meet certain non-financial and financial requirements. Non-financial requirements include state residency, citizenship/alien status, work registration and cooperation with the IMPACT program. Financial criteria include income and asset limits.

Parking Lots Closed
The Town of Speedway will be conducting parking lot improvement projects at both Leonard Park and Meadowood Park. These projects will involve crack sealing, seal coating, and striping of the parking lots.
Leonard Park - Work is scheduled for Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the day Friday, weather permitting. The parking lot will re-open Saturday morning, September 21.
Meadowood Park
Work is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, with the parking lot re-opening Friday evening, September 20, weather permitting.
