SVHS Class of 2022 End of Year Info

Mrs. Horvath sent the following information on behalf of the SVHS Scholarship Committee to our Seniors regarding Scholarships:

This year’s Saucon Valley scholarship packet is now available in Schoology for you to complete. On Friday, May 13, 2022, you had the Scholarship Application course added to your dashboard. The scholarship packet contains about a dozen scholarship and award opportunities overseen by a group of 8 teachers in the high school. The completed packets should be submitted online by Friday, May 20 by 11:59 p.m. when the Schoology course will close.

When you enter the Schoology course, you will find 3 parts. First, there is a video explaining the application process. Second, you will find the written directions and scholarship descriptions. And third, there is a folder where you will find the places to submit all of your information. The written directions include a list of the committee members, who are available for any questions you may have.

Congratulations to our 2022 seniors and their families! We look forward to reading your scholarship applications.

Senior Final Exams will be taking place on May 25 and 26. Students should check with their teachers to determine if they need to take a final for each of their classes. Final exams will be held in the LGI on May 25 and May 26. If a Senior does not have a final, they do not need to report to school on these days. For Seniors who attend BAVTS, May 24 will be their final day at BAVTS. All Seniors should ensure that their lockers are cleaned out by the end of the day on May 24.

Seniors are required to attend all activities on May 31, June 1 and June 2 in order to walk at Graduation on June 3. The schedule of activities for these days is:

Tuesday, May 31:

All Seniors are to report to the HS Bus loop anytime from 8-11 am. When they report to the bus loop, Seniors will return their ipad, all academic materials (ex. books for your courses, library books, etc), all athletic equipment, as well as pay any fines/debts. Students will pick up their cap and gown, as well as any additional accessories for the ceremony (ex. cords).

Wednesday, June 1:

Students are to report to the HS Auditorium by 8 am. Students should bring their cap and gown this day. We will review graduation expectations with the students. We will then have students practice lining up for the ceremony, and will then have them participate in a campus parade wearing their cap and gown. Students will receive their tickets for the graduation ceremony following the parade. Activities on this day should not last past 11 am.

Thursday, June 2:

Students are to report to the HS Gymnasium by 8 am. We will be conducting a full practice of the graduation ceremony on this day. Practice will conclude no later than 12 pm. Please bring water, as we will be practicing outside at the stadium.

We will be holding an Academics and Athletics Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, June 1 at 6:30 pm in the HS Auditorium. Students who will be recognized during the ceremony will be notified by the end of the day on Friday, May 27. Families are welcome to attend the Award Ceremony.

The Commencement Ceremony for the Saucon Valley High School Class of 2022 is scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2022 at Montford E. Illick Stadium on the campus of Saucon Valley High School. The gates will open at 5:30pm with the ceremony beginning promptly at 6:30 pm. Students should report to the SVHS gymnasium no later than 5:30pm. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the same times.

Admission to the event is by ticket only. Tickets will be distributed to the students during Graduation practice on Wednesday, June 1, and have been assigned by family so that we could accommodate all requests.

The event will be live streamed through YouTube for those who are out of town or may have difficulty attending the event. A link to the live stream will be posted on the webpage prior to the event.

Last year, we began a new tradition with the Class of 2021 where the Graduating Seniors decorated their caps for graduation. We hope to continue the tradition this year. Students may decorate their caps for the Graduation Ceremony. Please note, the decorations must be flat (so as not to obstruct anyone's view) and be school appropriate.
