PPS Employees of the Year
Congratulations to Mrs. Smith (2nd grade) for being selected as our Teacher of the Year and Mrs. Hollaway (Instructional Aide and Computer Lab) for being our Staff of the Year. PPS is a better place because of each of these women who bring patience, expertise and kindness with them every day to school.
Our PTA is AWESOME!
5/5-5/9 Staff Appreciation Week
We want to extend the biggest thank you to our PTA, parents and especially Nikki Bell for all of the staff appreciation festivities this week! We're incredibly lucky to have such a supportive community of parents who went to such lengths this week to show our staff all the love! We enjoyed meals from Knead the Dough, Podium BBQ, Perillo's Pizza and chair massages from Knead For Peace Massages. We also received Pitsboro sweatshirts and raffle prizes from the PTA. We are so grateful for all the contributions!
Wrapping up the Book Fair
The PTA also hosted the Spring Scholastic Book Fair this week. Thank you to coordinator, Dawn Fairburn, and all the parent volunteers for making this event happen. Our students and staff love to shop for new books!
Kindergarten Registration Information
We're excited to be enrolling our kindergarteners for the school year of 2025-26! If you have a child who will be age 5 by 8/1/25, please come into the office to register him/her. You may drop it off in the office any school day between 7am-3:30pm, or email it to Mrs. Thompson at thompsonle@hendricks.k12.in.us. Questions? Call us at 317-994-2100.
Library Books are Due!
All library books were due this week. If you still have library books at home, please send them in with your child on Monday.

We are so excited for Field Day on Wednesday, May 21! This year, it's a rain or shine event, so it will be on 5/21 no matter the weather. Mrs. Thompson puts on such a fun day for our students and she couldn't do it without a lot of volunteer help! If you're interested in volunteering, please sign up here. Volunteers will need to arrive by 7:45 a.m. and there will be a lunch break in the middle of the day.

It would be great if participants can register, so they can plan for vaccine accordingly. The registration link for the immunization clinic is patients.vaxcare.com/registration. The enrollment code is IN65942. Under search results you will see ‘Hendricks County-6/18/25’. Families can pre-register using this link. If a family is having trouble with the registration link, please encourage them to try a different browser (Chrome seems to work best).

Student Services Fee
Although we no longer charge textbook rental fees, parents are responsible for paying $30 Student Services Fees for each student. This helps us cover costs for student t-shirts, classroom supplies and other student items. You can pay with cash or check (made out to PPS), or you can pay online at www.linqconnect.com. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter!
Attendance Policy
As a reminder, our attendance policy is that parents/guardians must call the school's attendance line (317-994-2100, option 1) if your child is not at school for any reason. When you call in, please leave your child's name, their teacher's name, and reason for the absence. If no phone call is received within 24 hours of the absence, it will be recorded as an unexcused absence. It is our policy to send a child home who has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher. The child should remain at home until he/she has been fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication.
Pick-up Reminders
Please be aware that parents must notify the office each time anyone else will be picking up their student(s). Listing emergency contacts in Harmony does not automatically give those individuals permission to pick up your student. (Those numbers are necessary for us to be able to reach someone close to you in the event of an emergency.) If someone (other than a parent or guardian) is picking up your child, please send in a note to school, call us at 317-994-2100, or email Leslie Thompson at thompsonle@hendricks.k12.in.us. Thanks for your cooperation and support.
A Note from the Nurse, Mrs. Niemann
All medication must be brought in with an adults. Medication may not be sent in your child's backpack. We have forms in the nurse's clinic that must be filled out prior to us administering medication.
