This week's Faculty Spotlight highlights media specialist, Mrs. Fuquea. Mrs. Fuquea does an amazing job of providing educational opportunities and resources for our students and staff that support the academic goals of our school. Mrs. Fuquea's creativity and implementation of unique programs and activities further enhance the experience received in the library learning commons.

BASKETBALL CHEER SIDELINE TRYOUTS

Students and parents who are interested in being a part of the Learning Commons Advisory Committee are encouraged to email Lauren.Fuquea@sccpss.com by November 8, 2024. Selection will be based on number of interested individuals.

The deadline has been extended to register for the IHS Leadership trip to Walt Disney World! If you would like to attend, sign up using the QR code on the poster below or stop by Mrs. Lash -Freeman's room in 502. You can also come to the next Shark Senate meeting on October 17th or October 31st in 502. Our first fundraiser is starting soon, so sign up now and don't miss out!

The Islands High School Counseling Department is excited to invite all parents and students to our upcoming Parent and Student Night on October 22, 2024 at 6 pm for Freshmen and Sophomores. The meeting will take place in the auditorium.

This session will cover important topics and provide valuable information. We encourage all students and parents to attend.

Students are able to wear IHS shirts, IHS t-shirts, IHS jackets, and IHS hoodies with uniform bottoms on Fridays this school year. Tops must be Islands High School gear and uniform bottoms must be worn.

Seniors: A personally embossed yearbook is INCLUDED as part of the Platinum senior dues package. If selecting that package, please do NOT purchase separately. Seniors can also purchase and design personalized ads through this website.

Seniors, please consider submitting baby pictures and photos of yourself participating in Senior Activities for the yearbook.

PSAT in school will now be held Oct. 23, 2024. All current 10th grade students are eligible to take the exam at no cost. The PSAT/NMSQT is now digital! The test is easier to take, shorter, has more time per question, and comes with a built-in calculator. It can also qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships.

All students are required to adhere to dress code expectations every day. As a reminder, students are not to wear leggings as uniform pant bottoms. Slippers, crocs, and slides are not allowed at anytime. Shorts and skirts cannot be shorter than three inches above the knee. Hats, caps, and hoods are not to be worn on the head while in the building. Bookbags must be clear or mesh.

Tops must be solid white, teal, or black. Tops may be polo-style shirts, collared blouses or turtlenecks.

Bottoms must be solid black or khaki shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers, capri pants or pants/slacks
