A Message From The Principal
October 25, 2024.
Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians,
We are only one week out from Halloween, so I wanted to send everyone our guidelines for our upcoming festivities. Our goal is to facilitate a wonderful experience for our students while staying within the guidelines. The guidelines and plans for this year’s Halloween celebration are as follows:
Costumes
Children MAY wear their costumes the entire day. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
· If wearing the costume all day, please be mindful of your child’s comfortability – 8-9 hours is a long time to wear cumbersome clothing.
· If they are choosing NOT to wear a costume for the entire day, the costume must be something that is easily slid over existing clothing (in the classroom--not the restroom)
· NOT PERMITTED: Scary costumes, blood, gore, wicked witches, mummies, skeletons, masks or anything that covers their face. No accessories like fake weapons etc.
· Hats are permitted as long as they follow the above guidelines.
Parade
The Parade will start promptly at 1:30 PM in the upper playground. We expect the parade to last about 20-25 minutes. Please keep the following in mind:
· Parents are invited to watch the parade, and should go directly to the upper playground starting at 1:15. They do not need to sign into the office.
· Please avoid entering the building before, during, or after the parade.
· Parents are strongly encouraged to carpool and to park off-site at Copeland School Park
· After the parade, please exit your vehicles from the EBE parking lot before 2:15 to avoid delaying bus dismissal.
· Note for HHP: A Sign (that has class and Grade) will be designed by each class and carried by the teacher during the parade.
Classroom parties
· Classroom parties will be held immediately after the parade.
· Only homeroom parents will be permitted to attend the classroom party. Homeroom Parents, please remember to take lots of great pictures!
As always, thanks you for your support and the opportunity to partner with you to educate your child.
Joyfully,
Christopher M. Alston, Ed.D.
