NJSLA testing is coming!
3rd & 4th Grades: Monday May 12th -Friday May 16th, 2025
The New Jersey State Learning Assessments (NJSLA) are important standardized tests that help measure your 3rd and 4th grader’s progress in key subjects like English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. These assessments provide valuable information about your student’s strengths and areas for growth, and help guide instruction at school. Our teachers have been preparing your student throughout the year with comprehensive curricular instruction. We encourage all students to do their best, and appreciate your support in ensuring they are well-prepared and ready for test day!
Arriving on time to school
The safety of our children is of the utmost importance to all members of the school community. It is imperative that all visitors to the school read and follow the traffic guidelines. Please be sure that you inform any friends or family members who may visit the school of these guidelines as well. Your cooperation will ensure that our children remain safe and secure as they enter and leave school each day. It is vital that parents follow established traffic and parking regulations.
The morning arrival time is 8:55-9:00 AM. The bell rings for school to start at 9:00 AM.
We understand that mornings can be challenging, but arriving after 9:00 AM can make it difficult for students to fully engage in the start of their school day. It may also lead to an Attendance Action Plan. Starting the day on time helps set a positive tone for learning and ensures that students have the best opportunity to succeed.
Attendance
The safety and well-being of your children is the responsibility of the school during school hours. For that reason, we are obligated to contact you to verify your child’s whereabouts if you do not report your child’s absence from school. If you do not report your child’s absence or tardiness, your child's absence is considered "unexcused".
Please remember to notify Mrs. Laberdee, in the Main Office, by phone 732-613-6871 or email to Attendance-LawrenceBrook@ebnet.org, by 9:00 am, to report an absence.
When calling, be sure to leave a detailed message including the first and last name of the student and the reason for the absence.
Thank you!
Change to East Brunswick 2024-2025 Calendar
We would also like to remind the community of some additional calendar changes for this school year.
If we do not use our remaining one emergency closing day by Friday, May 23rd, then Tuesday, May 27th will be a non-school day for students and 10-month staff. District offices will be open.
Governor Murphy rescheduled the June 2025 Primary Election Date from June 3rd to June 10th.
The district has adjusted our school calendar as follows to accommodate this change.
Tuesday, June 3rd will now be a full day for all students with lunch served for students in grades K-12.
Tuesday, June 10th will now be a single session day for all students with lunch served in grades K-6.
