Spruins Girls Hockey Championship
Congratulations to the North/South girls hockey team on winning their third-consecutive NDHSAA State Girls Hockey Championship! The Spruins defeated Bismarck Century 5-1 on Saturday at Scheels Arena to lock up the title. North/South finished the season with a 22-3 record and closed the season on an 11-game winning streak.
Klein Named Coach of the Year
Congratulations to North High School Boys Hockey Coach Tyler Klein on being named the North Dakota High School Coaches Association Subway Coach of the Year! Klein received the award at the NDHSAA State Hockey Championships on Saturday at Scheels Arena. The Spartans went 20-7 this season and made their first trip to the state tournament since 2013.
Davies EDC Swimming and Diving Champs
Congratulations to the Davies boys swimming and diving team on winning the Eastern Dakota Conference Championship on Saturday at the Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo! This is the Eagles' fourth consecutive conference championship.
Middle-Level Honors Orchestra
Students from Discovery Middle School, Carl Ben Eielson Middle School, and Ben Franklin Middle School represented Fargo at the North Dakota Middle Level Honor Orchestra Festival in Jamestown, N.D. on February 9-10. Students were accepted through an audition process and spent Friday and Saturday rehearsing with other middle school students from across the state, culminating with a performance Saturday afternoon. Summer School
Registration for Fargo Public Schools' Summer School 2024 is open. FPS Summer School offers opportunities for students from elementary through high school to participate in programs focused on academics, athletics, arts, and more. View Fargo Public Schools' Summer School 2024 offerings.
EL Expanded Learning Summer Program
Registration is open for the English Learner Expanded Learning Summer Program. The program will offer English Learner students to practice an use language in an authentic and meaningful way through engaging hands-on experience. Interested individuals should speak with their students' EL teacher to register.
The program is held at the Agassiz Building from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in June. Bussing is provided and breakfast and lunch will be served. Learn more about the EL Summer Program on the FPS Summer School web page.
Student Scholarship Applications and Opportunities
The Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation administers scholarships on behalf of community businesses, families and organizations. Scholarships are made available through annual donations and investment income from endowed funds.
Graduating seniors from any of FPS' high schools, should select their school below to see what scholarships are available.
South Play - As You Like It
South High School presents the play As You Like It from March 7-10 in the South High School theater.
As You Like It is a pastoral comedy by William Shakespeare with major themes of love, gender, and injustice. Duke Frederick usurps the dukedom from his brother, the rightful Duke Senior, and banishes him. Several of the characters seek refuge in the Forest of Ardenne where they learn of love and forgiveness in nature.
Thursday-through-Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. with the Sunday performance at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and are available at the Fargo Public Schools Box Office.

Presidents' Day Activities
Mrs. Thiel's second grade class at Lewis & Clark Elementary School celebrated the week of Presidents' Day with a variety of presidential lessons and activities. The class researched and wrote about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington, drew pictures of both presidents, researched American symbols and landmarks, sang patriotic songs, and more. At the end of the week, Mrs. Thiel dressed up as Lincoln and read the Gettysburg Address. (Photo courtesy Lindsay Thiel)
Kindness Quilt
Bennett Elementary School students and staff celebrated Kindness Week February 12-16 by creating kindness quilt squares to combine to make one giant quilt. Each square features unique designs with kind words, actions, and drawings, and is displayed outside the school's library. (Photo courtesy Amy Balluff)
Family Date Night
Explorer Academy staff hosted a special Family Date Night for the school's students and their families. The guests enjoyed dinner and activities together and enjoyed bonding with their own families and the other families in the school. (Photo courtesy Emily Breitbach)
We Care Bears
The first graders in Lewis & Clarkâs Gifted and Talented program presented teddy bears and assorted stuffed animals they collected during their We Care Bears drive to representatives from Essentia Health and YWCA Cass Clay in a special presentation on Friday, February 23. The students collected 75 new stuffed animals during the donation drive, held during Kindness Week from February 12-16. Donations came in from school staff, students, families, and the community.
