Check Your Mood
Wangenheim Middle School has a very important program in 7th and 8th grade history classes called Check Your Mood the week of January 27th, 2025. Students view a presentation and complete a mental health screening.
If you would like to opt your 7th or 8th grader out of viewing the Check Your Mood presentations in history class on January 27th or 28th, you can complete the opt out google form on the school website (link here) or email your student’s history teacher or school counselor by Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Shadow a Student, January 31
Join us to experience a day with your student on Friday, January 31. Parents are able to shadow their students through their school day. DISMISSAL is 12:48pm, unless you would like to sign your student out from the Office at 12:13pm.

Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair will be returning January 24-January 31. It will be open before school and during lunch. We will also be open all day during Shadow a Student day.

We are excited to have your student join us for Falcon Day! Please be aware this event is for incoming 9th grade STUDENTS ONLY.
Parents are responsible for dropping off students (follow the signs to the back of the school). Check-in/Welcome tables will be located at the south entrance to the stadium.
Check in will be between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM.
Students will hear presentations and be able to ask questions about Student Leadership, Athletics, ASB, and Advanced Classes. They will also have a guided school tour and an assembly in the gym, which will be followed by lunch. During lunch there will be a club fair, and students will have the opportunity to buy food from some of our wonderful clubs on campus. Students may bring a lunch or snack if they choose to, or district students may use the cafeteria. (Please note: any SDUSD middle school student that will be picking up a lunch must enter their SDUSD ID number and show their student ID in order to get a cafeteria lunch.)
Please make arrangements to pick up your student promptly at 1:05. It may be easier to plan on picking them up at the front of the school.

Principal's Coffee - February 11, 2025 (Tues)@ 8:30am
Each month, the Principal hosts an informal discussion meeting with parents and community members. This is an open meeting where the Principal shares information on topical issues. Parents and community members are invited to provide positive feedback and to express questions and concerns.
Handouts from these meetings will be posted on this page for parents and community members who could not attend.
The monthly hybrid meetings are held either Tuesday or Wednesday and begin at 8:30 am in person in the library and on Google Meet and run for approximately one hour. The same meeting information will be used for each meeting:

San Diego Unified School District uses multiple methods of sharing important information with families throughout the school year. Make sure you don’t miss any messages by keeping your contact information updated with your school and opting in to texting.
Once the school year begins, check the PowerSchool Parent Portal to ensure your current cell phone number is on file and then text the word “YES” to 67587 to opt in to receiving text messages from San Diego Unified.
