EMS PTO's Volleyball Tournament
Tuesday, March 25 - 2:45-5:00 PM
*EMS PTO's Volleyball Tournament featuring Students, Staff & Community Partners*
Students can form a team, or just stay after school to watch the games!
Dear Eisenhower students, parents and families,
Our friends at the EMS PTO are sponsoring a right-after-school volleyball tournament in the EMS gymnasium on Tuesday, March 25. This is a pay-to-play or pay-to stay fundraiser event. All proceeds will go directly to the EMS PTO to support our Fall and Step Up Dances, student activities like Rox-THON, scholarships, teacher appreciation week, and so much more! Whether your student is planning on playing OR just watching, step 1 is to please complete this STUDENT PLAYER/SPECTATOR FORM to assist us with planning for the event.
Here's what else you need to know if your student plans to play, or just wants to stay and watch:
- Is your student interested in playing? The deadline to sign up a team is MONDAY, MARCH 10. Teams must sign up by completing the TEAM SIGNUP FORM (1 form for the whole team). The cost is $20 per TEAM, and student teams should have 6-8 players. If your student is on a team, please work with the other families to cover the cost of the team they are on. The PTO accepts cash, check or Venmo (@ems-pto). Any questions regarding teams or payment, please contact emspto78@gmail.com.
- Does your student just want to stay and watch? The cost to stay and watch is $5. Venmo in advance (@ems-pto) will be accepted, as well as $5 cash at the door. Pizza, snacks and drinks will also be available for additional cash purchase at the event.
- As always, all students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with our core values of citizenship, respect and responsibility. The EMS Code of Conduct will be enforced, and any students found in violation thereof may be removed from the event.
Frequently asked questions
- Are parents permitted to attend? Unfortunately, parent spectators will not be permitted for this event due to limitations in parking, space in the gym, and the timing of the event. Only student spectators are permitted. The EMS PTO, EMS administration, and Roxbury security will be on site to assist with safety and supervision. Please contact the EMS PTO (emspto78@gmail.com) if you wish to volunteer to assist with the event.
- How will participating students get there? This is a right-after-school event. All students participating will be called down to the gymnasium - players first, then spectators. Pre-payment is preferred and appreciated, $5 cash will also be accepted at the door.
- How will participating students get home?
- All student players and spectators will have access to our 4:00 and 5:00 courtesy late bus routes. Please read our late bus routes and neighborhood drop off locations carefully. Pay close attention to the difference between 4:00 and 5:00 routes and drop-off locations, as 5:00 buses and routes are more limited, and service is not door-to-door. This will help you decide which late bus your student should take, or if parent pickup at 5:00 (or earlier) is preferred.
- Students may also walk/ride their bikes home, or get picked up by an adult in the 5:00 pickup car line. The car line will be located by the side entrance to the gym. You do NOT need to exit your car if you are picking your student up in the 5:00 car line. If you need to pick them up earlier than 5:00, please park and enter through the G-Hall athletics entrance. You can check them out at the PTO welcome table.
- In all cases, students are expected to follow your parental directions for dismissals after the game.
- What about students NOT attending or participating? How will they get home? Non participants will follow their normal 2:30 dismissal routine (bus, car line or walk/bike).
On behalf of the PTO and all of us at EMS, we thank you for your continued support of our students, staff and school!
Kind regards,
Mr. Gallagher
