Kindness Club Starts soon!
The TOMS Kindness Club was created for our students, and will meet once a month during our morning Advisory time. The goal is to provide an opportunity for students to promote kindness in their school and communities while also increasing their leadership abilities. It also fosters an attitude of teamwork and problem-solving by working together in a respectful manner. The students will participate in several different activities during the school year that will work to foster leadership skills while promoting kindness.
Students can pick up an application/permission form in the Library at the Circulation Desk and have the parent/guardian fill it out.
Please return your signed form to Mrs. Beale, School Counselor, as soon as you are able!
We look forward to seeing you in the Kindness Club!

Dear TOMS families,
We’re going to England, France, Spain in June 2025, and you’re invited!
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity:
September 4th (In-Person): https://bit.ly/4cajU3h
September 5th (Virtual): https://bit.ly/3LRnQvi
If you are ready to take the leap to sign up for the trip use the following link: https://www.eftours.com/tour-website/2808988HM
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
How this opportunity will benefit your student
What we’ll see and do on our trip
Everything that’s included in this experience.
How your child can earn academic credit
How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
I have been on two EF tour trips and I could not have asked for a better experience. Can’t wait to travel with you!!
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
** Please note this is a NON-school sponsored trip.
Sincerely,
Sonni Shupe

Dismissal Procedures
We have partnered with the company safeDISMISSAL.COM for our dismissal process. One of the many features of this new dismissal process is that your children will remain comfortably and safely in their classroom until the moment they will meet you in the "car loading zone".
We have included a short video to explain the procedure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qsPysljBRo.
All students received their Yellow Pick-up Card at Back to School Open House or on the first day of school. If you need a card, please request from your child's Advisory teacher.
Here a few tips to follow during our new dismissal process:
1. Please make sure to have your Yellow Pick-up Card displayed in your front window when entering the dismissal line. Please keep your card displayed until your child has been loaded into your car.
2. Please stay in-line (no passing) during dismissal as the children will be instructed to walk to specific spots for loading.
3. If your student does not arrive at the loading spot before you do, you may be instructed to move to a "waiting" area where your child will be notified again. We ask you to move to this area so that we do not hold up the remaining dismissal line.
Finally, we ask for your patience the first couple of days. The administrators and teachers are committed to making this process beneficial to all parties. For more information, please visit www.safeDISMISSAL.com

Let's Talk Technology!
Have questions about the Personalized Digital Learning Devices at Ten Oaks? Check out this information below on the Dell Latitudes our students use at Ten Oaks Middle. Distribution will begin after the first week of school.
All the following must occur for your student to receive a device:
All Technology fines must be paid in full; the $25 technology fee must be paid and we must have a parent/student permission form signed. Below is a detailed explanation of the difference between Tech fines and Tech fees. Only Tech FINES are currently available to be paid at My Payments Plus. 2024/2025 Tech Fees payments will need to be made in person at Ten Oaks Middle.
Technology Fines: Technology fines are charges that may have been added to your child’s account for any of the following incidents: Lost device, lost charger and or damage to the device.
Technology Fee: There is a $25 dollar technology fee that each student pays at the time of registration. It is beneficial for each student to pay this fee.
Students who pay the Technology Fee receive the following benefits:
● first accidental damage repair will be $25; the second accidental damage repair will be $75 and full cost of repair/replacement for all subsequent accidental damage repairs during the academic year
● device replacement due to theft (requires formal police report) will cost an additional $25
● pay full repair for all damage caused by neglect or abuse.
● pay full replacement cost for loss of device.
● students in grades 6-12 are allowed to take devices home.
Students who do not pay the Technology Fee:
● pay full repair cost for all damage.
● pay full replacement cost for lost due to theft.
● pay full replacement cost for loss of device.
● students in grades K-12 are not allowed to take devices home.
