RootEd Awards!!
Every year we recognize RootEd folk who have gone above and beyond what we initially said RootEd would entail. It's so fun to see people get creative when it comes to what being RootEd means to them and to their schools. We are grateful for the time people put in to help market their schools and tell their amazing stories. We are not the only ones who are grateful. Principals and Districts are so impressed with the RootEd Reps and are thankful for the help in increasing the enrollment of their schools. There are so many RootEd people in our lives including our families who learn by listening to us and can probably tell you about any of our amazing schools; Community members who realize the importance of being a part of their neighborhood school; Staff members who understand that being RootEd is being the cheerleader for the school; Principals who lean on us for help during activities like Kinder Roundup and Future Football Games. We are grateful to have so many supportive neighbors who understand the importance of being RootEd.
Congrats to these fellow nominees:
Anna Ramsey, Hidden Forest Elementary
Beverly Lowery, Southwest Elementary
Jennelle Berger, Oak Meadow Elementary
RootEd Scholarship Winners!!
In May, we awarded 3 amazing RootEd seniors RootEd scholarships. We are so excited about our three scholarship recipients. They stood out among many fabulous applicants. All three are RootEd in their communities. We could not be more impressed with what they have accomplished in their high school careers and how much they care about their neighborhood schools.
Congrats to Lucia from Southwest HS, Jasmine from Southside HS and Danielle from Churchill HS!
Thanks to Sofia Andry, our RootEd Scholarship Chair for organizing the scholarship program! Big thanks to everyone who donated to our scholarship program. You are making a difference in students lives.
Representing.......
Our end of the year moments are brought to you by our AWESOME RootEd Reps! They proudly grabbed a pic in front of their schools and shared what they love most. We love our Reps so much!!!

Sofia at Coker

Anna at Hidden Forest
My favorite thing about being at Hidden Forest is the sense of community it brings my family.

Jennifer at Wetmore
My favorite thing about Wetmore can be communicated in one word: Family. This word means so much for my school. The staff has come together like family. We lean on each other and support each other like we would with our own kin. The students and their families blend so well into our community. They are an extension of us. And, I especially love that I have the opportunity to bring my own family members to attend school with me. That means the world to me. The bond that is shared amongst the Wetmore community is one of the many benefits of public education. It is family that makes Wetmore wonderful. I am proud to be our RootED rep, and I encourage families to establish their childrens’ roots in public education.

Roxie at Brandeis

Veronica at Tuscany Heights
It’s a great community that builds friendships that remains for years.

Teresa at NEISD PreK Academy
Our campus is very unique and special. We are the only campus having full day 3yr olds. We have 2 beautiful museum rooms - farm and grocery store theme. We have a green house plus an atrium with ocean theme filled with ship and sand.
Love my campus plus all the hard working teachers/staff.

Jenny at Harmony Hills
I love being part of the Harmony Hills community because we have the most caring staff that give so much of their gifts and abilities to help ALL students thrive! Our school is a beautifully diverse group that comes together to create a warm environment to learn and grow!

Dawn at Regency Place
The RP castle is the heart of the Regency Place neighborhood and offers every student and their family a place to learn and call home. Once a Knight, always a knight!

Raise Your Hand Texas
A message from our RYHT Regional Advocacy Director, Sophie Torres...A big THANK YOU to RootEd with helping Raise Your Hand Texas with our Measure What Matters campaign this spring. With your help, we heard from over 15,000 Texans on how to build a stronger and more transparent assessment and accountability system.
