Friends are good to have
My theme is "Friends are good to have" because I know how it feels when your friends are there you. When you have something going on in your life that you can't face alone, who do you normally look to? I look to my friends. Friends don't judge you or mistreat you. Your friends should always be there for you, and you should do the same for them.
Characters
Matt
Matt has been a great friend. He hung out with me when I needed to hangout with someone and has been there for me since 2nd grade when we first met.
Devin
Devin is a great friend. He listens to me, and he is always nice to me. I try my best to listen to him when he needs to talk like a good friend should.
Ms. Ward
Ms. Ward was a good friend to me too. she counseled me and told me about things I could do with my friends or by myself to get through tough times. She was always there for me if I needed to talk, and always listened. She pulled me out of class 1-2 times every week to talk to her and see how I was doing. She was definitely another great person in my life.
Setting
Home and School
At school, I always had my friends and teachers to go to. But what about at home... At home I had to choose to either call a friend or talk to my parents. My parents were always cool about letting me have a friend come over to talk to because they didn't always know exactly what was going on in my life. When I had a friend come over that was an excuse for me to get away from them, and for them to get away from me.
When I was at school, I could go to pretty much anybody I wanted to and they would talk to me. It was much easier at school to talk then it was at home. Last year Ms. Ward had me talk to a counselor. She really helped me out and told me more and more things I could do to learn how to calm myself down and just talk. I also had Devin.
Plot
This part starts in 2nd grade
In 2nd grade, I was playing tag with some people in my class and this kid wearing weird clothes comes up and asks me if he can play with us. I told him yes and asked what his name was. It was Matt. Me and Matt started talking and hanging out a lot. We were involved in some of the same things together but we didn't know. Since then, Matt and I have become pretty good friends. We still talk today, and we hung out A LOT last year.
This part was in 6th grade
In 6th grade, I was talking back to my english teacher and I got sent to the principals office. Ms. Ward is the principal. I go in there and we start talking about what I did and why I was doing it and then she told me she would be right back. She comes back later with a boy who is new to the school and says that his name is Devin. She left the room and we started talking. He told me that he was being very disruptive during class and making lots of jokes toward the teacher. I told him what I was doing. We saw eachother in the halls the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that and we started to sit by each other at lunch. To this day, we sit with eachother at lunch and hangout outside of school. Getting sent to the office couldn't have been any better.
The turning point
The turning point would be when Devin and I start hanging out outside of school. This is helpful so you don't have to worry about someone at school overhearing what you're saying.
