Tomorrow begins what we call our October Count Window. October Count is how we are funded each year: It is based on our attendance on October 1. For those that do not know, public schools in Colorado are funded on a per pupil basis. Our annual funding is determined by the attendance we show on October 1. I know enrollment can fluctuate over the course of the year, and this type of funding does not take into account any increase in enrollment over the course of the year. That is, however, why it is very important for schools to ensure they are adequately funded as much as possible. Please ensure your students are at school the next two weeks, especially on October 1. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is bursting at the seams. If your student is missing something, please take a look. Help make it easier to get your student back their items. Label everything!

The book fair is coming

Book Fair! October 7th - 10th from 8am - 3pm. Also open during the P/T Confrences October 8th & 9th.

Please continue to go to the roundabout and enter the kiss and go lane correctly. It is a little bit that means so much for out kids.

Pumpkin decorating contest

Our very own Ms. Bri will be hosting a 5th Grade Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest.


Students will compete by decorating (not carving) pumpkins to win prizes. More info can be found in class, at the library, or on the library website: https://sites.google.com/aurorak12.org/harmonyridgelibrary/home

Lock Down Drill

On Tuesday, September 24, we will be holding a Lockdown/Secure drill. The drill will take place sometime between 1:00-2:30p. We will do our best to message families once the drill has begun and once it is complete. Even though this is a practice drill, it can be triggering and serves as a stark reminder of the times we are living in. We know that it might scare our younger kids, so please talk with them in the coming weeks and let them know it is practice to keep everyone safe.

After school snack sales

5th grade is selling snacks afterschool to help offset the payment for their Calwood trip. Everything is $1.00. They will be selling at the kiss and go lane and at the bus stop pick up area.

Girls on the run

POM's girls, don't forget we were able to move POM"s to Wednesday's so you can join girls on the run on Tuesday's.

Our color fun is quickly approaching. It will take place on September 26th at 4:00pm.
