As state assessments approach, we want to share key reminders to help your child feel prepared and confident on test day:
Get a Good Night's Sleep
A well-rested mind is a sharp mind. Ensure your child gets a full night’s sleep before the test to feel refreshed and ready.Eat a Healthy Breakfast
A nutritious breakfast fuels your child's brain, helping them focus and concentrate during the test. (Free breakfast is offered each morning.)Arrive on Time
Ensure your child arrives early to school so they have time to settle in and start the day calmly.Bring Necessary Materials
Double-check that your child has all required materials, including a fully charged iPad and charging cord.Stay Positive and Calm
Encourage your child to stay calm and confident. Remind them that the goal is to show all they’ve learned—doing their best is what matters most!Listen and Read Carefully
Remind your child to listen closely to the directions and read each question thoroughly before answering.Manage Time Wisely
Remind your child to pace themselves and not spend too much time on any single question. Time management is key!Stay Focused
Test-taking requires concentration. Encourage your child to stay focused and take breaks, as allowed, to stay refreshed.Review and Check Work
If time allows, encourage your child to review their answers and correct any mistakes.Persevere
Remind your child that it’s okay if a question feels tough—taking deep breaths and pushing through will help them succeed.
Together, we can support our students in showing their best each day and on test day!
