Brooker Creek Elementary Update - Week of 3/31/25

Dr. Brown's Weekly Message
Please take a moment this week to celebrate your child’s grades and conduct for the 3rd grading period. We are so very proud that so many students are continuing to strive to improve their academic performance at Brooker Creek.
Thank you as always for all of your support and encouragement of our students.
Mrs. Gerber's Message
We are just about to enter the final testing/assessment season for the 2024-2025 academic year. Below you will see a calendar that outlines what assessments will be given on which days. This is a general overview of the schedule. Individual grade level testing/assessment letters and exact testing dates will be sent home by your student(s) homeroom teachers as the specific dates get closer.
To help ease some of testing anxiety and stress for our staff, we are hoping to stock the lounge with testing treats throughout April and May. Please see the image next to this text with specific details. All contributions will be greatly appreciated. You can have your student bring in the items or you can drop items off in the front office. Please make sure items are labeled for Mrs. Gerber or Stock the Lounge. We are hoping to get a good supply of healthy and non-healthy snacks and beverages for the staff.
If you have any questions regarding testing/assessments or the stock the lounge drive, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.
Thanks for your continued support of our students and staff.
Mrs. Gerber

News from our PTA President
Friday night we hosted the "Bobcat Boogie"!! We had over 150 student and family members dance the night away. Thank you to everyone that cam out and supported this event. We certanily hope that you had as much fun as we did. Below are a few pictures of the evenings excitement PTA reminders:
Bobcat Prowl 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place May 3rd at 8:30am. This is our only fundraiser for the year, and we are exciting to bring back a well-liked activity and making it family/community friendly! Register before April to get a shirt. All participants will get a medal upon completion of either race.
Thank you for everyone who purchased hoodies and shirts in our spirit wear sale. The order has been placed and should be here by the end of the March/beginning of April. We will distribute spirit wear to your child’s classroom teacher when the order arrives.
Don’t forget to purchase your yearbook! Visit www.treering.com/validate and enter our school code: 101610564074758
Believe it or not, the PTA is getting ready for the 2025-2026 school year as well. We have an immediate need for an executive board position of secretary to remain in compliance with our county, state, and national bodies. Please reach out if you are interested in working with our amazing team! If you would like to join the PTA board, but not as the secretary, we have other open positions as well. We are looking for someone to shadow and learn about Wonderland Gift Shop next school year and take it over in 2026. We also have positions open for social media, business sponsorships, event planning, and the fence! Please reach out for more details and if you are interested in joining the PTA board. No job is too big or too small!
PTA executive board elections for the next school year will be held on May 1st. If you wish to run for an executive position other than secretary (President, VP, or treasurer), please contact presidentbcepta@gmail.com for details and information.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to me via email at presidentbcepta@gmail.com

Bobcat Spotlight
It is Mrs. Hickman’s pleasure to recognize Max Richey as Brooker Creek’s East Lake Sunrise Rotary Club Student of the Month for March as he is such a delightful young man. Max consistently demonstrates responsibility, determination, and respect in all areas of his school day. Max joined our Bobcat community in August when his family moved from Canada and quickly became a leader and sought after friend among his fellow peers. In class collaborative groups he takes initiative of the tasks, explains to his group, and facilitates the next moves. He does so with kindness and encouragement that each are heard. He is quite welcoming with his words and actions that it’s no wonder so many enjoy his company. Outside of school Max enjoys playing second base and shortstop for his Kangaroo Courts travel baseball team. He says he’s been playing baseball since he was five. Lastly, he is happy to be here in FL as it means he sees more of his grandparents and cousins in Bradenton. Max’s friendly disposition and “can do” attitude contribute to his success as an outstanding student! Congratulations Max!
Mrs. Livingston will be joined 3 of our Brooker Creek artists and their families at The Morean Art Center in St. Petersburg as they will be honored for their artwork in the Word and Image art show.
Congratulations to Cooper Davis, Eliana Vazquez, and Lilliana Garcia
