November Moments: Honoring, Helping, and Gathering Together
November is Here!
As we embrace the warmth of the Thanksgiving season, our calendar is brimming with events that celebrate learning, community, and gratitude. Kick off the month with a taste of holiday favorites that are good for you, too, at our Healthy Thanksgiving Pies event, where you’ll enjoy delicious pies with a nutritious twist. We’ll also honor our veterans with a special presentation, recognizing the sacrifices and courage of those who have served.
Our spirit of giving continues as we come together to pack To-Go bags for those in need, and all donations are appreciated as we prepare for this meaningful day. Then, get ready for an “armchair travel” journey to Plymouth, MA, to discover the birthplace of Thanksgiving, followed by a round of Thanksgiving Trivia Bingo to put our knowledge to the test! And as we roll up our sleeves to prepare for our annual Bazaar, there will be plenty of ways to pitch in and make this event a memorable one for all.
Rounding out the month, we’ll celebrate the Extra Give with a lively morning of Bingo, and of course, savor a Thanksgiving Lunch together with turkey and all the trimmings. Join us for our unique Canned Food Bingo and bring in a canned food item to make this season even brighter. We hope to see you here for these gatherings that remind us of the joy of community, gratitude, and giving!
Craft Club Spreads Joy: Ornaments for the PA Capitol Tree
This November, our Craft Club is spreading holiday cheer by creating ornaments that you can either take home to enjoy or donate to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Donated ornaments will be proudly displayed on the Holiday tree at the Pennsylvania State Capitol, where they showcase the creativity and spirit of senior community centers across the state. This is a cherished tradition, with seniors contributing beautiful, hand-crafted ornaments that bring a personal touch to the holiday season for everyone visiting the Capitol.
We look forward to coming together again to make this year’s contributions just as special. Whether you’re crafting for your own holiday memories or to share the warmth of the season with the community, we hope you’ll join us in making this a festive, meaningful activity!
PLEASE NOTE: There is a date change so we can accommodate the PA Department of Aging’s requests for ornaments. Craft Club will be on the second Wednesday this month.

Travel Thursday: Exploring Plymouth, MA
Thursday, November 14 9:30
This month, our Travel Thursday takes us to historic Plymouth, Massachusetts! From the comfort of our “armchairs,” we’ll explore this charming town and its deep Thanksgiving roots, uncovering the traditions and stories that shaped one of America’s most cherished holidays. After our virtual journey, we’ll keep the fun going with a Thanksgiving-themed trivia session, testing our knowledge with historical facts and fun surprises. Join us for this memorable visit to Plymouth, where history and holiday spirit come together!
