Bernshausen Community Buzz
April 1, 2024
Happy April, Bengal Families!
Shout-out to our Bengals that have had the opportunity to sign the Positive Behavior Wall in my office! Students that have earned a "Positive Office Referral" receive a certificate and get to sign the chalk board wall located in my office! It has been an absolute JOY to watch my wall grow with positivity over the year. Our goal is to have it FULL by the end of May. How can your student earn this opportunity? It's easy, encourage your child to follow our Bengal Core Values of Being Responsible, Being Respectful, Being Reliable, and Being You!
Being a partner in your child's education is appreciated, as we work together to guide our students in academic and character education. Be sure to maintain open dialogue in your home regarding the importance of kind communication among peers and reporting concerns to trusting adults. It is a pleasure to watch our Bengals grow and we continue to be proud of the responsible choices made by our students.
Should you feel you need resources and/or guidance to support your child/children at home, do not hesitate to reach out to Stacy Granick, School Counselor, at sgranick1@kleinisd.net. We are a phone call and/or email away and are always happy to support our families.
Be on the lookout for the following items in the Buzz this month:
- 24-25 School Supplies
- Talent Show
- Choir Performance
- 2nd Grade Music Performance
- and more!
Looking forward to a GREAT month!

IMPORTANT: Solar Eclipse Information
As many of you may know, a total solar eclipse is expected to be visible throughout the United States on Monday, April 8, 2024. The Houston area will be able to witness close to a full eclipse. As we engage our students in relevant, meaningful learning, we want our students to be able to authentically witness and experience this event and experience the connection to what they are learning in the classroom.
Connections include;
observable and recognizable patterns in the natural world and among objects in the sky
changes in the appearance of object in the sky
relationships between the Sun, Earth, and Moon
location of Sun, Earth, and Moon in an eclipse
causes of eclipses (position of the Moon causing eclipse)
Klein wants to thank Buccee’s for providing ISO-approved eclipse glasses for students and staff in Klein, and appreciates the Houston Museum of Natural Science for distributing the glasses.
Please Note: Students are not allowed to bring their own solar eclipse eyewear, and cannot wear sunglasses. Students must wear the eclipse glasses throughout the event.
If you DO NOT WANT YOUR STUDENT TO PARTICIPATE in this event, please complete the "Opt-Out" form that was sent home with your child on March 28, 2024.
